Hey Bellingham!

We're so sorry to do this but you've eaten us out of food and drank most of our beer and liquor in the last three days! We have to take today to reset, lightly restock and then tomorrow we hope you'll join us for one last, good party! We'll have Open Mic, Nacho Problems will be open for you to get in a last few rounds of pool, shuffleboard, and good times and one last big batch of delicious Tavern Pizza and Nachos. Get here early because we're looking to sell out and once it's gone, it's gone.

Sad News, Folks

When we opened a year ago we were so excited to share tavern pizza, beer, and warm times with Bellingham. Nobody opens an independent restaurant with anything less than love, optimism, and their whole heart.

Unfortunately we're no longer able to sustain operations. We could, and likely will at a later date talk about some of the challenges we faced both internally and externally. Apart from the standard aspects of restaurant operations, which are significant, 2024 was the most challenging year for independent operators that we've seen in our entire careers and we hope for the sake of Bellingham's restaurant community that many of the shared challenges will be taken seriously by those who want to keep a vibrant independent community in Bellingham.

That said, we've got one last good weekend in us and we hope you'll come down and get some squares, help us empty our kegs, and see how many Malort faces we can put together.

Our regulars have kept us going this last year and we're excited to do a proper send off.

As a Bellingham-born American college student in Vancouver, BC, I enjoyed a lot if firsts that came from living in an extremely international city after growing up in a relatively small hometown.

I fairly relied on an internet cafe (remember those!?) up the street from school for sustenance, who offered a sizeable bowl of rice and butter chicken for something like $8. My best buddy in school and I basically lived on the stuff, and so began a decades long obsession, culminating in this cracker-crust, Tavern Style pie dressed with Butter Chicken sauce, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and shredded chicken.

It hits the spot.
