September 11 was one of the darkest days in our nation’s history—but in that darkness, the strength and compassion of the American people shone brightly.
First responders made the ultimate sacrifice while trying to save people they had never met. Ordinary Americans traveled from across the country to search through the rubble, offer support, and help families they didn’t know. Millions more stopped wherever they were to pray for strangers experiencing unimaginable loss.
We witnessed tremendous evil that day, but we also witnessed extraordinary courage, unity, and love. America was wounded, but we came together, stood strong, and overcame.
Today, we remember every innocent life lost, every hero who ran toward danger, and everyone whose life was forever changed.
May we never forget their courage.
May we never forget their sacrifice.
May we never forget the way our country came together.
