Buffalo

Here I'm breaking a local raised Buffalo off the rail. Not out of a box.

Also, referred to as Bison or Tatanka ;p

A Bison breaks just like a beef off the rail. The only differences are the hump/arch in the back as you can see here from the split and they often have one more row of rib then a beef. They also grow huge shoulder blades.

When heards go to get processed. We often see holes in the carcasses from the way they like to treat themselves. Often bullying weaker less aggressive Bison.

When you let them off the trailer they come of and always want to face you. Beef more often want to go away from you.

Buy your meat local from a local ranch.

One of your neihbors or let us know.
We outsource to our customers who are ranchers.
So if I get you what you're looking for through a local rancher. Who are already Whalen's Meat Packing customers. Then, they sell their meat, you buy local and we continue having critters to process.
It's very simple all you have to do is call about what you're looking for! As long as it aint a Girrafe or a water buffalo we should be able to find you whichever critter looking for. Beef, pigs, bison, sheep, chicken, eggs, jams and jellies, honeys all locally made. Suet for rendering. Whatever it is, just call.
