A head clearing jaunt to our rocky coast was great food, loving friends and all the salt we were craving. Coastal Cafe and Bakery has been a favorite breakfast stop. We need to know that the server, at the very least, knows someone who knows the chicken that supply our breakfast. The servers undoubtedly do. The plates were garnished with the perfectly sliced apple pinwheel, if that much love is put into a garnish, pretty sure every plate is prepared with love. I could hear the pleasant kitchen chit chatting, the owner checked on every table, the coffee selection was perfect. Homemade bagels, scones, and croissant, local, warm, relaxing special spot. Be back soon for a box of croissants!

Here's an unpopular rant:
Dear Restaurant,
Just do your job. I am a seasoned patron and hospitality professional (I built my little empire serving one great bottle of wine at a time). I am aware of how to behave a customer. To you, the restaurant, please don't over extend your staff, don't blame your patrons if you are not prepared. Stop blaming covid if you cannot stay in your lane. Offer me a product, with a smile, that you are reasonably sure you can deliver in a reasonable amount of time. Stop telling me how over worked your staff is and how difficult things are for your establishment, I'm not paying to hear you complain. This is food and beverage, a none essential service that is meant to be enjoyed. I'm tired of restaurants complaining about the difficulties delivering the service patrons pay for. If you can't do it with a base level of joy, don't. Pick another lane. I will decide if I spend my hard earned money with you. For the love of all joyous privileges, please stop bitching and just get me a martini in a decent, clean glass and offer me an enjoyable space for my meal. It really is that simple.

The lazy path for training your staff would be to have them watch every episode of Bar Rescue. It is the very least you can do to improve you reputation and increase your profits. It's not personal, it's professional.

I love that this can be lunch on a Wednesday. Moderate wine list, not the highest quality glassware but service was friendly, historic building is a treasure. 🍷🍷🍷

Classic coast. They have a good selection of wine and the clam chowder was the best. Atmosphere compels us to give 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
