As many of you have probably seen, a new bakery will soon be opening in the location where Shella’s Sweets once had its storefront. I want to take this opportunity to first say THANK YOU to everyone who supported us, visited us, ordered from us, and made that little storefront such a special part of our community. 🩷
I also want to clear up a couple of things I’ve seen and heard:
No, Shella’s Sweets was not bought out. 😂 I have simply returned to baking from home, just like I did for the first three years of this business.
And to make it very clear, Shella’s Sweets has absolutely no affiliation with the new business, its owners, or the owners of the building.
We absolutely love our little town and the people in it, and I’m so excited that Shella’s Sweets will continue to serve you, just on a smaller scale for now.
The truth is, it’s hard to be a good wife, mom, daughter, friend, business owner, and all of the other roles I carry when I’m away from home so much. After a lot of thought, I knew the right decision for me and my family was to bring the business back home.
But I also know myself well enough to recognize that I can’t allow the business to consume me again to the point that I start falling behind on the things that matter most.
So, in this season, I will not be taking custom orders. That doesn’t mean Shella’s Sweets is going away —
I’ve already been graciously invited to several events for pop-up sales and I have a few other fun things in the works as well. So you’ll definitely still see some sweet treats from me here and there!
For now, I’m choosing a version of Shella’s Sweets that allows me to bake, create, see all of your smiling faces AND still be present for the people and parts of my life that matter most.
Thank you for continuing to support me through every chapter. From a little home bakery to a storefront and now back home again — you guys have been there through it all.
I’m incredibly grateful. And I’m not going anywhere.
Stay tuned… there’s still plenty of sweetness to come.
