The Fourth of July has always been a special tradition in our community—a time when families, friends, and neighbors come together to celebrate our nation’s independence and the pride we share in calling Cass County home.

The Beardstown Park District is currently planning our annual Fourth of July festivities, which include family-friendly activities, entertainment, and community celebrations for residents of all ages.

The Springfield Cultural Arts Festival
is set to take place on Saturday, May 30th at Union Square Park in downtown Springfield, IL. 🎉🎵

This vibrant event aims to celebrate and showcase the region's diverse creative community, featuring over twenty juried local artisans. 👩🏽‍🎨👩🏼‍🎨🎨

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic expressions, from textiles and jewelry to illustration and literature.

Event Highlights:

Art Market:
Opens at 11:00 AM with local artisans displaying their crafts.

Performances:
11:30 AM: Presentation by the Asian Indian Woman’s Association.

12:00 PM: Enjoy performances by Mariachi Gabriel and singer Ayleen, followed by salsa dancing with Julio.💃🏻

1:00 PM: Springfield International Folk Dancers will take the stage.💃🏻

2:00 PM: Join the Springfield Drum Circle, bring a drum and participate!d

3: 00 PM: Salsa dancing with Jeff and Jacqueline. Salsa with Julio!

3:30 PM: Koto performance by Sue Alexander.

4:00 PM: Express Your Seoul KPOP Dancers.

4:30 PM: Springfield Choral Society will perform.🎵

With great excitement and in honor of my dad’s memory, this year we will be starting a scholarship to support Latino students and youth from immigrant families who want to continue their education and pursue their dreams.

This scholarship will be available for the Class of 2027 graduates.

My dad strongly believed that education was one of the greatest things we could leave to our children. He would always say that “a shovel weighs more than a pen,” reminding us of the value of hard work, sacrifice, and the opportunities that education can create.

Through our family business and with lots of love, we want to continue his legacy by helping hardworking students and dreamers in our community.

Very soon we will be sharing more information about the scholarship, requirements, and the projects and events we will be organizing to make this possible.

Thank you all for the support and for helping us keep my dad’s legacy alive. ❤️

Con mucha emoción y en honor a la memoria de mi papá, este año estaremos comenzando una beca estudiantil para apoyar a estudiantes latinos y jóvenes de familias inmigrantes que desean seguir estudiando y luchando por sus sueños.

Esta beca estará disponible para los graduados de la clase 2027.

Mi papá siempre fue un fiel creyente de que la educación era una de las mejores herramientas que podíamos dejarles a nuestros hijos. Él siempre decía que “pesa más una pala que una pluma,” recordándonos el valor del trabajo duro, el sacrificio y las oportunidades que la educación puede abrir.

A través de nuestro negocio familiar y con mucho cariño, queremos continuar su legado ayudando a jóvenes trabajadores y soñadores de nuestra comunidad.

Muy pronto estaremos compartiendo más información sobre la beca, los requisitos y los proyectos y eventos que estaremos realizando para hacer esto posible.

Gracias a todos por el apoyo y por ayudarnos a mantener vivo el legado de mi papá. ❤️
