Uncommon Grounds Coffee House & Cafe

Uncommon Grounds Coffee House & Cafe Uncommon Grounds Coffee House and Cafe is a non-profit, 501c3 and is an extension of The Purple Lemon, Inc. Each student receives regular financial meetings.

Our faith-based program provides transitional housing, job, financial and life skill training, as well as one on one counseling. Prior to entrance into our program, our ladies attend a one year in-house treatment with the Adult and Teen Challenge program. Our ladies receive above market wages and participate in our scholarship program. All ladies that complete one year with our program and save $1

000 will receive matching funds of $3,000 to purchase a vehicle or build funds for transitioning out of the program. The scholarship is funded through financial donations, as well as book sales in our cafe. We believe each lady is unique; each with a special calling on her life. We strive to create an environment that nurtures exploration and discovery of her identity through Jesus Christ.

So proud of this young lady! Britney has graduated our program and will work with CC’s in Lafayette.
She has secured an apartment and will be moving back to her hometown!
She is a beautiful person inside and out- her dry wit will be missed.
She has served in the cafe as an amazing barista and Felicity’s right hand!

We will be closing the cafe January 25.
It’s hard to imagine; but, this was the start of our cafe.
Two years have passed and so many great memories have been created here.
I’m learning to embrace new seasons.
Things are shifting in our transition program- Grace at 300-we are excited about the changes- we will share more soon.
So thankful for Johnathon Frye and all of his help with setting up the cafe.
We are so blessed to have many cafe regulars-you know who you are!
We are looking forward to our next season.
