I’m sure everyone knows that one of our YellowJacket Cafeteria ladies, Brittney Fain, lost her mom yesterday. Our hearts are absolutely breaking for her. She’s hurting right now, and everything in us wants to take that pain away, even though we know that’s not possible. 💔

Since none of us can fix what happened or take away her grief, we'd love to find a way to take some of the everyday burdens off her shoulders while she navigates the hardest days ahead.

Our Kitchen Manager, Christine Kimble Riley, will be going to Walmart in a little while to pick up some gift cards to local restaurants, snacks for the kids, and, of course, some Dr Pepper for Jimothy. ❤️

Jimothy is amazing, and we know he would do whatever it takes to cook, clean, and take care of everyone for as long as Brittney needs him to. But you can also see how much it hurts him to watch her hurting. We want them both to be able to focus on each other and their family without having to worry about what’s for dinner, making grocery runs, or a few of the other everyday things that still have to get done even when your world feels like it’s falling apart.

There are 6 people in the house, and we're guessing Lilly and her boyfriend will be there a lot, too, so we’d love to get enough together to help feed everyone for a few days.

If you’d like to help, you can Cash App Christine at $teeniiriley, or if you’d rather make a meal, drop off some snacks, drinks, paper goods, or anything else you think they might need, that would be amazing, too. We can coordinate drop-offs so we don’t overwhelm them.

We know we can’t take away the heartbreak of losing her mom, but maybe we can surround her and her family with enough love and support that they don’t have to carry quite so much on their own right now.

If you know Brittney, you know she deserves all the love in the world. Let’s show up for her and her family the way we would hope people would show up for us. ❤️

💜💛 The YellowJacket Cafeteria made a Charcuterie Spread for the Bay High School - Home of the Yellowjackets students today! They picked their grains, meat/cheese, fruits, and we had baby carrots with hummus for the veggie. I think they loved it!! 💛💜

💜💛 WE’RE A "B" SCHOOL! 💛💜

Bay High School has officially increased from a C to a B on our 2026 School Report Card, and we are incredibly proud of what that growth represents!

A letter grade doesn’t tell the whole story. Behind that B are students who are learning and growing every day, teachers who continually adjust instruction to meet their students’ needs, staff members who support our kids in countless ways, families who partner with us, and a community that believes in Bay High School.

We are proud of where we’ve been, proud of how far we’ve come, and committed to continuing the work that moves our students and our school forward.

Moving from a C to a B is absolutely worth celebrating, but it isn’t the finish line. Every day, we are working to create meaningful opportunities for students to learn, grow, ask questions, overcome challenges, and discover what they are capable of.

To our students, teachers, staff, families, and community, THANK YOU. This B belongs to all of us. 💜🐝💛
