Cheers to our lovely barista Emma. Today is her last day at the cafe as she embarks on a new journey in her life. Conservation is in her heart and we couldn’t be more proud of her!

She is heading out west to Montana to help save our Earth.

We are blessed that she worked for us 2 different times. We will miss you Emma!

If you’re around today make sure to send her good wishes.

The rest of the staff is sticking around with the new owners of the space so we shouldn’t have to say goodbye to anyone else any time soon ❤️

3 weeks from today marks the end of Populace operating the cafe at 810 Saginaw street.

BUT our new partner and successor is the

Legacy is owned by (KassyFifer)

She will be the newest small business owner in downtown Bay City and we couldn’t be more excited to pass the baton to her.

A majority of the Populace crew will be sticking around and Kassy is going to be looking for more people to join her team.

Make sure to follow the for more updates.

Like we said previously, spend all your loyalty points and gift cards before Feb 28.

We are truly blessed and honored and grateful for each and every one of you.

This account will continue to be the brand account for Populace and we will begin highlighting some of our coffee partners and customers here.

The new owners have some exciting updates and ideas for the space and honestly we can’t wait to support them and cheer them on.

🚨 Attention friends and supporters. 🫶🏻

Our last day operating the coffee shop at 810 Saginaw Street will be Friday February 28th, 2025.

We have found a buyer and they will take over the space beginning March 1, 2025.

If you are a loyalty subscriber, please use your points up this month because they are non-transferable.
If you have gift cards, please use them because they are non-transferable.

We are grateful to have spent almost 8 years in this space and the time has come to pass the baton to a more ambitious operator and that is who we found.

They will continue to serve our coffee for the foreseeable future and I hear they may even bring back bagels ;)

We are grateful to our community of loyal supporters and to every barista that has worked behind the bar here or baked in our kitchen.

We will continue roasting coffee for our wholesale partners and for our online business which turns 15 years old this year!

Please share this far and wide since this is the only form of media anymore.

There are more details to come over the next few weeks including a more formal introduction. For now, though, come in and support the last 4 weeks of Populace in Downtown Bay City.

We’re still wintering. Cozy, slowness, and embracing the new year on our own terms. For us it’s a menu that is one for sipping slowly.

Our new winter menu is available and it’s a good one. A blend of some new and some originals.

Drink featured is the Michigan Fog. A light, sweet and airy drink that you want to just hold closely. Steeped earl grey with steamed milk, vanilla, honey and sprinkled with cinnamon.

We are looking for individuals who love coffee, quality ingredients and customer service. We make all of our syrups from scratch and bake in-house. We strive to create an atmosphere that is light and airy!

Position is full-time and must have open availability, especially weekends. Our hours of operation are Sunday - Saturday, open to 4pm.
