Today we celebrated my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday surrounded by some very special classmates and dear friends. What a joy it was to love on her and this wonderful group!

Each guest received a one-of-a-kind Java Java Good Days Start Here souvenir glass cup and a pair of flamingo socks because, after all, flamingos flock together. 🦩💕

A huge thank you to The Hideout for creating a special cheesecake and serving up delicious red raspberry ice cream to make the celebration even sweeter. 🍰🍨

There is something so beautiful about friendships that span decades, stories shared around a table, and taking time to celebrate the people who make life meaningful.

🌿☕️Mindful Monday 🌿☕️

Your mind is always listening.

This weekend a powerful sermon reminded us of something science and scripture both agree on — your brain is wired to find evidence for whatever you tell it to believe. Feed it fear, and it will build a case. Feed it gratitude, and it will find beauty everywhere.

In every yoga session, we begin the same way. Not by accident — by intention.

Let go of expectations.
Let go of judgment.
Let go of the past — and come home to the present.

Because what we think, we believe. What we believe, we become.

Today, I want to invite you into the gift of right now. Not yesterday’s regrets or tomorrow’s worries — just this. This breath. This moment. This life you’ve been given.

That’s not a small thing. That’s everything. 🙏

✝️ Sunday Sermon Share

Sometimes the most profound faith walks in at about three feet tall.

His name is Kenny, and from the moment I noticed the cross around his neck at our Tea + Etiquette event, I knew this little guy carried something special. Every time he walks through our doors, that cross is right there — because for Kenny, it’s not an accessory. It’s just who he is.

At our Paint + Sip night he asked if he could have the baby Jesus we keep up by the register. And at our Light + Hope Patio Prayer Event, while his mama was blessing our chalkboard with her beautiful penmanship, Kenny got to work on his own.

He drew little graves — “rid,” he called them, meaning RIP — because Kenny and his family visit their loved ones often. He visits Jake. He visits Mira. And he brings them flowers.

He drew the cross where Jesus died. And all those circles and squiggles surrounding it?

“All of the sin He took away.”

His mama said it best: “It’s a constant reminder for me and I love seeing him touch others hearts through the Lord.”

Kenny, Thank you 🙏 for reminding us the teachings of faith can come from anywhere.
Sometimes a piece of chalk, the little boy who already gets it, and a heart big enough to carry Jake and Mira with him wherever he goes.

We are so grateful this community keeps showing up and showing us Jesus. ✝️🤍

Dad moves. Daughter moves. ☕🤝 The handshake? Certified. 🙌

Coach Moffitt and his girl Camden brought the energy to Java Java — and we were here for every second of it. Camden holds it down at Brewtique in Newton, and with Alumni Weekend happening this weekend, Newton was celebrating big. Once a Cardinal, Always a Cardinal — and as a Class of ’95 Cardinal myself, that hits different. 🔴❤️

Two coffee towns. One amazing family. All the good vibes.

Today’s cup is a little extra full — because today we’re celebrating a birthday that belongs to someone who has poured into this community in the most beautiful ways. 🎂

Happy Birthday, Pastor Benjamin Spera.

If you’ve ever walked into Java Java on Main and caught a conversation happening in the corner — someone laughing, someone being prayed over, someone leaving lighter than they arrived — there’s a good chance Pastor Ben was at the center of it. He doesn’t just visit this space. He fills it.

Last Saturday, we had the incredible honor of watching him lead a blessing and sermon over our new back patio. He spoke protection, guidance, and wisdom over this building, this community, and every person who will walk through these doors. I stood there thinking — this is exactly what this space was built for.

And here’s the sweetest part: his other half is our very own Julia ☕ — the woman behind the most legendary oatmeal cookie lattes you’ve ever tasted. This family is woven right into the fabric of what we’re building here, and we are so grateful.

So today, let’s fill our cups with that energy. Protection. Guidance. Wisdom. Hope. Joy. Let’s carry it into our Friday and pour it out on everyone we meet.

We met Lynn at the fire station’s hog roast, and moments like that are exactly why this community is something special.
