What year did you start working at Murphy’s?

The 1st time 2012-2014 and the 2nd time 2024 - now!

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

I’m a window girl! I take a gazillion orders, bag up tons of food, stock to go everything, and make everybody laugh.

What is your favorite menu item?

Junior Hot Hamburger with pepper jack, grilled mushrooms & grilled onions with white GRAVY OVER ALL!

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

President of the United States

What's the most interesting thing you've ever collected?

Besides men, definitely some cool rocks!

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

I have so many memories that are so important to me, I love everyone I work with, I love everyone I work for, and I’m blessed to have this amazing job to make amazing memories.

What year did you start working at Murphy’s?

When I was 13, so 1990!

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

Look pretty, provide my customers with unsolicited, inappropriate commentary… APPROPRIATELY, and run my rear off as a waitress!

What is your favorite menu item?

Filet, cooked Medium Rare of course, with brown sugar, caramelized onion and mushroom.

What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done?

Um, I plead the 5th!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you want to travel most?

Spain and Greece.

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

Probably seeing Lorene hit Melvel over the head with a frying pan when I was around 14ish…

What year did you start working at Murphy’s?

Originally, 1992, starting as a table-cleaner when I was 14 years old, and then returning about two and half years ago.

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

Typically, I wait on the great citizens of Bartlesville , and they tip me for tormenting the cooks.

What is your favorite menu item?

Definitely the Filet Mignon and eggs with a side of fries and gravy!

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would you want to have with you?

A handsome man capable of building a boat, my bikini and my fishing pole!!!

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

I don’t sing karaoke, I provide emotional support for the microphone….

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

This is an impossible question for me to answer; 80 years ago, Melvin and Lorene did more than open a restaurant in small town Bartlesville, OK. They put a dot on the map where families still gather for any and all occasions. The bond that a waitress forms with the community in a restaurant that has stood strong for 80 years is incredibly special. Growing up in this restaurant, I learned the value of connection and familiarity, serving customers who have become like extended family over the years. After spending 23 years away, returning to find many of the same faces has been a heartwarming experience. Each interaction, whether it’s a familiar smile or a shared laugh over a favorite dish, reinforces the deep-rooted relationships that have flourished here. It’s not just about serving food; it’s about being part of countless life stories, celebrations, and even struggles. The Murphy Family has touched a lot of lives throughout the years, whether our patrons knew them personally or not. And that’s probably my favorite part!

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

A little bit of everything. (Tammy is our manager and indeed does everything! We are so grateful for her!)

What is your favorite menu item?

A Junior Hot Cheeseburger with Gravy over All and Onions.

What is the best concert or live show you have ever attended?

Phantom of the Opera!

If you could only eat one food for breakfast for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Oatmeal

When I was little my mom worked nights and Melvin would teach me how to wrap baked potatoes.

I started working at Murphys on April 6, 2023.

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

Bus tables, dishes, and cook the side dishes.

What is your favorite menu item?

My favorite food item is a double bacon hamburger with onions, and a side of green beans.

What movie can you watch repeatedly without getting bored?

Deadpool and Wolverine.

What is a hobby you have always wanted to try?

Reading more books, it’s very important to learn new things everyday!

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

Some of my favorite work memories were back when I could work with my best bud named Christian. I also loved making my coworkers happy with freshly made green beans (my specialty)!

I started work in 2020.

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

I’m a dishwasher and prep.

What is your favorite menu item?

My favorite menu item is the hot cheeseburger with bacon and grilled onions.

Have you ever met a celebrity, been on TV, or won a strange contest? Tell us about it!

I’ve seen but never met face to face with Ben Afleck when they shot the movie “To The Wonder”.

What is a surprising fact about you that sounds fake but is 100% true?

I went through police training when I was 16-17.

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

One of my favorite memories I’ve had at work would be when I was an extra in a student film shot here at Murphy’s last year.

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

I am a waitress/cashier.

What’s your favorite menu item?

Breakfast!

What’s the best, worst or most unique gift you have ever received?

For my 16th birthday I didn’t get a car or truck, I got a horse. I will never forget that day!

If you could live in any fictional universe (book,movie,TV), which universe would it be?

Avatar. I love how everything is so beautiful and everyone and everything is connected somehow. They have the most respect for every living thing around them.

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

Working somewhere like Murphy’s for so long holds so many memories, happy, sad, angry, embarrassing. I met my amazing husband at Murphy’s! I have raised my 3 boys with all these people who love them like their own. We have shared so my tears through loss and heart break. We have laughed so hard we can’t breathe or wet our pants. We have fought like cats and dogs, yet we would be there in a heart beat if you called. This place is home for me whether it’s a good day or bad. Memories are made every day here.

It was my spring break of my sophomore year in high school. March of 2012.

What do you actually do day-to-day at the restaurant?

I’m a weekend waitress!

What is your favorite menu item?

Chicken fried chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and bacon!

What are three things on your bucket list?

Take my 3 girls and hubby on vacation, become a permanent make up artist in the next few years, & to create a name for myself and possibly expand & hire other creative artists in the future at my Esthetician spa Rare Culture Esthetics.

What are three words that your close friends would use to describe you?

Driven. Nurturing. Resilient.

Can you tell us about one of your favorite work memories?

Murphy’s is a big part of who I am today! My favorite memories would have to be.. the pancake benefit they had for my dad when he passed away from cancer in 2015, & also supporting me through the passing of my mama of Covid in 2021, & hosting baby showers for my girls!

I like to paint or go fishing with my family!

I love riding horses and fishing.
