Harmon and Son’s Grocery and Produce was established in the 1960’s. Eventually a window snack bar was added on the side of the store serving hamburgers and milkshakes. The dream of opening Harmon’s Restaurant became a reality in 1981 and has served many in the past 44 years. Mack and I have been blessed with an amazing team of family and friends to help us make this dream come true, sometimes several of our loyal customers stepping in at the last minute to help us out when we were in a bind.

It is very bittersweet to say we are closing Harmon’s Restaurant, but we are so excited to start a new journey with each other and our family.

We will be open from now until April 4 and 5, 2025, which will be the last open weekend. We love you all and are so grateful for your support but most of all we thank God for blessing us with your friendships.

Harmon’s was closed last night because of a sudden death in the Thweatt family. Barbara Thweatt (married to Curtis for 30 years) passed away unexpectedly around noon yesterday with a heart attack. We weren’t able to give any information because of grieving and notifying family members. I appreciate everyone calling or texting to check on us. God is good and we are blessed with family and friends that care about us and understand. We care about all of you.

Thank you all so much for coming today to support us with the fundraiser for our church building fund. We are so blessed to have the family and friends that were there to donate time and money to help! I apologize for it taking so long for the carry out and for the wait in line for the dine in. I know there was two people that had to go before they got served and if you will come to the restaurant on the weekend when we are open, I will definitely make it up to you! Every one of you that was there and those that gave and couldn’t be there - each one of you have a special place in my heart and my prayer is that God blesses you for your kindness.
