Happy Juneteenth!

Today we celebrate 161 years since the abolition of slavery - the victory of a mass movement of enslaved people who enacted a general strike by abandoning plantations en masse, and with hundreds of thousands of Black soldiers joining the Union army - and the continued struggle for liberation today.

Jax’s musings have brought robusta beans into our co-op!

“I hate the arabica vs robusta discourse, each strain of coffee has its own merits and knowing how to work with multiple types of beans in an age where climate change is redrawing agricultural lines is super important. I first fell in love with coffee because of robusta. Something felt missing when I became more experienced in the barista world and my skills and flavor portfolio were developed through arabica. I’m glad I get to reincorporate robusta coffee back into my life, and hopefully introduce it to Hampden/Baltimore in general!” - Jax Du, Worker-Owner

The Hickory: Bacon, Mixed Greens, Sliced Tomatoes, Slicef Avocado, House-made Chimichurri & Chipotle Aioli on Toasted Sourdough! As always, served with a side of kettle chips ✨

Want to customize it? Some staff for their shift meal add an egg, sliced deli turkey or swap the bread to their favorite bagel or wrap! Make it yours or keep it classic, its a win either way 🥪
