Today will be one of our first “lasts” at the café.
It’s Mother’s Day, and the last Mother’s Day we’ll get to celebrate with all of you here. What feels especially fitting is that Mother’s Day was also the very first holiday we were ever open seven years ago.
Back then, we had no idea what this little café would become.
We didn’t know we’d watch babies become kids ordering pancakes on their own.We didn’t know we’d become part of weekly routines, post-church breakfasts, first dates, family traditions, celebrations, and hard days that just needed coffee and comfort food.
This week also brought another quiet “last”, saying goodbye to the men’s church breakfast group that has faithfully gathered with us once a month. Watching those familiar faces walk out the door knowing it was likely the final time hit me harder than I expected.
These final weeks are strange and beautiful all at once.Every ordinary moment suddenly feels important.
So today, as we pour coffee, refill mugs, run food, hug necks, and celebrate moms, I just want you all to know how grateful I am.
Thank you for making this place more than a restaurant. You made it a part of people’s lives.
And that’s something I’ll carry with me forever. ❤️
