🎬 Join us on Friday, May 22 for a special screening of Karmele (2025), directed by Asier Altuna, presented in Euskara with English subtitles.

Based on the real-life experiences of Karmele Urresti and Txomin Letamendi, and inspired by Kirmen Uribe’s novel Elkarrekin Esnatzeko Ordua (Time to Wake Up Together), Karmele tells a moving story of resilience, exile, love, and dignity during and after the Spanish Civil War.

The film follows nurse Karmele Urresti (Jone Laspiur), who is forced into exile in France, where she meets trumpet player Txomin Letamendi (Eneko Sagardoy). Together, they build a life across Paris, Caracas, and Bilbao while navigating displacement and survival.

🎤 Stay after the screening for a special Q&A conversation with director Asier Altuna.
