This is by far the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to write.
Mulligans Bar and Grill will not be reopening. We have served our last meal, our last drink and shared our last laughs and smiles with our beloved customers and community.
We have loved every single second of owning a business in this amazing community. We truly love all the wonderful people in this area. The devoted regulars, the “just passing through” folks, the families, the friends and the relationships we’ve created along the way.
We have received so much positive support from so many wonderful people and in fact, I don’t have one single negative thing to say. To say that our hearts are broken would truly be the understatement of the century. This restaurant was our pride and joy. A place our children love and have learned some valuable life lessons and experiences with. This is an extremely large loss for us.
Over the last 9 months we have blessed with many great employees which have become family to us. We had lost some along the way, but 99% of them we lost on good terms and wish 100% of them nothing but the very best in the future.
We had big plans to put Mulligans not necessarily on the map, but in the hearts of those near and far. Unfortunately those plans have been cut short.
There is not just one single reason for this decision. New York state is a very difficult state to own a business in; the current economic state, the lack of valuable employees (aside from the ones we already have) rising costs, price inflation of necessary services, repairs, etc. are all factors that have contributed to the decision to close our doors for the very last time. In short, we have too many factors working against us and just not enough in our favor.
Again, it is imperative that I say how much we love this community we live in, raise our family in and chose to open a business in. Our timing may have been off and we are heartbroken that we couldn’t make it work.
We just want to say thank you; to everyone that was a part of our story, that helped us to write this chapter, that supported us, that wished us well, offered their help, their blessings and everything in between.
Though we have a difficult road ahead, we have some very valuable memories to hold with us as we forge ahead into the next chapter of our lives.
Thank you for your support and for helping our dream of owning a restaurant see the light, even if it was only for a short time.
Much love to all.
