I’ve been quiet for a minute. Not because life has been quiet, but because the 11teen million other side quests I’ve ventured into apparently required my full attention. 🤪

A little life lately:

1. I finally tried Shirley Shack.
For anyone who doesn’t know, they’re in our old Crave spot, so going back was a little awkward. I really do miss all my people, and being back in that space definitely pulled at me a little.

It looks totally different now. Bigger, darker, and just strange when your brain still remembers exactly where everything used to be.

But the food was good! Mr. Crave and I split the catfish meal and he got a side of grilled shrimp. They brought us all the sauces, and naturally I mixed the house sauce with the tartar because apparently I cannot leave anything alone. 😂 Both were good on their own, but together was my favorite.

2. The Central Park Splash Pad closes September 8!
The boys have had soccer at the park the past few weeks and let me tell you, it has taken everything in me not to go running through that water. 🥵🤣

It really is such a cool addition to Azle, so go enjoy it for a little bit longer.

And while you’re there, feel free to admire my back fence from 317. 😂😂

3. The ACS Denim & Diamonds Gala is coming up!
Not really a shameless plug because I’m not on PTO anymore, but this is the third annual gala and every year it just gets better.

4. And the Crave Charcuterie Class? Plot twist.
Apparently the two little minions who dictate my life, aka the twins, had their soccer schedule released and Week 1 landed right on top of my class.

And by Week 1, I apparently mean three weeks later than I thought it would be. 🤦🏼‍♀️

So yes, the class is being rescheduled.

Will it still happen? Absolutely.
When? Excellent question. 😂

Finding a time to step away from mom duties is basically a moving target around here, but I love doing the classes too much to let it disappear.

Anyway, that’s the current episode of Where Has Jaime Been?

Answer: apparently everywhere, doing everything, all at once. 🤣

I had the privilege of attending convocation as an Azle ISD teacher for about five years. Today, my husband got to stand on that stage and speak to all the incredible AISD employees as President of the Azle Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Now, if you know my husband, you know handing him a microphone is always a bit of a wildcard. I was slightly concerned about what might come out of his mouth. 😂 But judging by the texts I received from friends still in the district, he delivered some much-needed and thankfully appropriate laughs!

To every person who filled that gym today, I hope you have an amazing school year. I know firsthand how much of yourself you give to support our Azle kiddos. You become a beacon of light, a shoulder to cry on, a trusted adult and a steady leader. Every person in that room has countless opportunities to change the trajectory of a child’s life for the better.

The work can definitely be daunting, overwhelming and downright exhausting, but it matters, and it is worth it.

Thank you for doing so much more than educating. Thank you for loving, caring for and nurturing every child who walks through an Azle ISD door. 💚
