Anthony here. I’ve known this woman my whole life. She was the attendance lady at Agua Fria High School for years and my whole family knows how bad I was in school yet she showed me nothing but loving kindness. When I left Avondale she gave me a santo San Antonio so I wouldn’t get lost and I’ve kept it with me since then. I still loose stuff all the time but I came back to Avondale and when I did she taught me how to make chile verde and tortillas de harina. My Tia Dora Aragon was laid to rest yesterday at 95 years old. We are going to miss seeing her and my tio Pat sit together for a cafecito. We love you so much Dora!

Come thru and check out our neighbor and home baker Custom Cakes & Treats 🎀 Avondale, Arizona We have her Prickly Pear Lemon Bars, made with local ingredients, in our pastry case. She makes custom cakes and treats, as well as dessert catering for small events. Show her some love!

Open AAAAAND closed.

Our A/C decided to give up so we’re closed tomorrow. God willing this is a short closure because it was great to see the cafe today be the bustling community space it’s meant to be.

Renovations have started and we have some dates. We’ll be closed through Thursday July 23rd.

In addition to the front wall we are making some much needed repairs in our kitchen and updating the interior design.

It’s a major moment for us and we’re looking forward to many more years of service in Old Town. Have a great week in the rain!
