Happy 7 Days, My Sweet Grayson , My Smoke Prince 💙

Happy seven days to my sweet baby boy.

Even though your original due date is still a few days away, God had other plans. You were ready to meet us, and I cannot imagine my life without you already in it.

These first seven days have been the most incredible, indescribable days of my life. Every morning I wake up thankful that I get to see your beautiful face. Every night I thank God that I get to hold you close. I never get tired of giving you a million kisses, wrapping you in hugs, cuddling you, feeding you, bathing you, and watching you grow a little more each day.

My sweet Grayson, my precious Tookalooka, I love watching every little thing you do. I watch you breathe peacefully while you sleep. I smile every time you sneeze. I laugh when you decide to p*e all over your daddy because he doesn’t change your diaper fast enough. Those little moments have already become some of my favorite memories.

You amaze me every single day. You’re so alert, so aware, and so incredibly strong. I’ve even caught you trying to hold your own bottle, covering your little face when you’ve had enough attention, and working so hard to lift your tiny head. Watching you discover the world has already become my greatest joy.

One of my favorite moments is singing to you. I sang to you while you were growing safely inside my womb, and now I get to sing to you while looking into your beautiful eyes. I truly believe you know my voice because you become so calm when you hear me. It reminds me that we’ve known each other long before we ever met face to face.

Grayson, thank you for making me a mommy. It is the greatest honor and privilege of my life. I love you more than words could ever explain. Thank you for choosing me. My heart has never known a love this deep, this pure, or this unconditional.

You have an amazing daddy who loves you beyond measure, and you have been welcomed into a family and a village that has surrounded you with so much love, generosity, encouragement, and prayer. You are deeply loved, little man.

The C-section made my recovery more difficult than I expected, but I would go through every single second of it again just to have you. Every scar, every tear, every prayer, and every sleepless night is worth it because it brought me you.

This is only Day Seven, Tookalooka, and we have a lifetime of adventures ahead of us. I can’t wait to watch you laugh, crawl, walk, run, learn, dream, and become the incredible man God created you to be. I promise to pray for you and with you, encourage you, teach you, protect you, cheer for you, and love you through every season of your life.

My prayer is that you grow into a man of wisdom, integrity, kindness, courage, humility, and unwavering faith. I pray you always know who you are, Whose you are, and never doubt how fiercely you are loved.

Happy seven days on this beautiful earth, my sweet Grayson. Mommy loves you with all her heart, all her mind, all her body, and all her soul. That love will only grow stronger with every passing day.

Forever your biggest fan, your safest place, and your loudest cheerleader.

🖤🔥 FROM THE SMOKE QUEEN… 🔥🖤

What a ride these last 8 weeks have been.

When Burn the House Down BBQ relaunched on 3/20, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I was pregnant, exhausted, emotional, grieving, nervous, and trying to rebuild something bigger and better than before. I just knew I had a vision, faith, and a smoker full of meat. 😭🔥

But BABY… y’all showed UP.

These last 8 weeks have been some of the most phenomenal, record breaking, high volume weeks we have ever experienced as a business. The lines got longer. The smokers got fuller. The sell outs got crazier. The support got louder. And somehow… through all the stress, pressure, sweat, tears, swollen feet, sleepless nights, and contractions disguised as “BBQ cramps”… we made it happen. 😂🔥

This year we learned SO much.
We listened to customer feedback.
We improved systems.
We launched new menu items.
We tested flavors, portions, specials, and combinations.

And y’all absolutely went CRAZY over:
🔥 The Monster
🔥 Brisket
🔥 Smoke Stack Macs
🔥 Smoke Queen Trios

The final weekend before leave?
Y’all wiped us OUT.
And when I say out… I mean OUT. 😭

No brisket.
No pork.
No ribs.
No mac.
Not even a baked bean left in the building. 😂🔥

That’s love.
That’s support.
That’s community.

But now… it’s time.

The Smoke Prince Baby Grayson is in his final stages of development 👶🏽💨 and the Smoke Queen has to finally sit down somewhere and REST before his arrival.

Running a business while pregnant has been the hardest thing I have EVER done in my life.

There were days I cried.
Days I wanted to quit.
Days I was mentally overwhelmed.
Days my body hurt so bad I didn’t know how I was gonna get through service.

And on top of all of that… we lost my mother in law the SAME DAY as relaunch.

Trying to carry her first grandchild while also trying to be strong for her son, my husband Jonathan, and still show up smiling for customers every weekend… was one of the hardest emotional battles I’ve ever faced.

But somehow God carried us through it.

And honestly?
YOU ALL carried me too.

Every customer.
Every share.
Every comment.
Every “best brisket I ever had.”
Every preorder.
Every hug.
Every person that waited in line.
Every supporter that checked on me.

Y’all became part of my WHY.

I also want to thank my staff, family, and friends who helped carry Burn the House Down BBQ these last two months because there is NO way I could’ve done this alone.

And Mama…
Thank you for helping keep me sane, aligned, focused, and emotionally together all the way from Washington State while I was trying to hold everything together here in Georgia. ❤️

This is NOT goodbye.
This is simply…
SEE YOU LATER. 👑🔥

The Smoke Queen WILL return.
And when we do… we’re coming back stronger, smarter, healthier, and with even more smoke. 💨

I want to say THANK YOU to all of my supporters, friends, customers, and even fans that came out today to support the Smoke Queen on my final day before taking a leave to take care of myself and prepare for the arrival of baby Grayson. ❤️

Y’all showed up and showed OUT with so much love, patience, support, and encouragement today. Even with the Augusta Saturday Market being slow and HOT, you all kept us busy from 8AM until 2PM, and I truly can’t thank you enough.

Today we achieved RECORD BREAKING numbers, and none of it would have been possible without each and every one of YOU. Every plate purchased, every share, every comment, every hug, every encouraging word, and every person who stood in line means more to me than you know.

Now we’re back out tonight at the Truck & Tractor Pull in Aonia, closing this chapter of the Smoke Queen journey before baby Grayson arrives… and what a phenomenal ride it has been. 🔥

This is not goodbye. It’s simply “see you later.”

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve my community and share love through smoke and good eating. Burn the House Down BBQ started as a dream, and because of this community, it became something bigger than I could have ever imagined.

Jonathan, thank you for dealing with my hormones during this pregnancy, supporting my dreams, working beside me, and standing by my side through it all. I love you endlessly.

Back in January 2025, I was presented with an opportunity to go to Cairo, Georgia to sell barbecue at an event. I didn’t do my homework. I trusted the person who invited me, and they told me we were going to make a ton of money.

So I got to work.

I grilled ribs, chicken, pulled pork. Made potato salad, baked beans, macaroni and cheese. Spent around $1,500 to $1,600 preparing for what I thought was going to be a huge opportunity.

At that time, I wasn’t the Smoke Queen.

I was just Jazmen… a woman who loved barbecue with a $50 Walmart grill, a little smoker, and a dream.

Me, my mom, and my husband loaded up my small SUV during Martin Luther King weekend and drove almost five hours to Cairo, Georgia.

When we got there, everything fell apart.

We couldn’t even get into the venue because I didn’t have a food truck yet.

I was actually in the process of buying my trailer, but it hadn’t arrived. I had no business experience. No real understanding of vending. No clue what I was doing.

So instead of being inside the event, we ended up setting up down the street.

At the end of the day, after all that food, all that money, all that driving, all that hope…

I made about $60.

I think I sold three plates.

I don’t tell this story often because honestly, it’s not one of my proudest moments.

But it’s one of the most important moments of my life.

I remember sitting in the car when we arrived and telling my mom, “I don’t even want to get out. Let’s just go back to Augusta.”

And she looked at me and said:
“We came all this way. Let’s at least try.”

That failure broke me for a while.

A lot of people don’t know I went into a deep depression around that time. And after that trip, it got even worse.

People kept asking:
“When are you starting the barbecue business?”
“What are you going to do with the trailer?”

The trailer finally arrived about a week later… and it just sat in my yard.

For almost three months straight, I shut down. I told people not to talk to me about barbecue. Don’t mention a business. Don’t ask questions.

All I did was play NBA 2K on Xbox every single day.

Anybody who really knows me knows this story is true.

But here’s the thing…

If I had allowed that failure to be the end of my story, Burn the House Down BBQ would not exist the way it does today.

There would be no green trailer.
No Smoke Queen.
No sellouts.
No crowds waiting on brisket.
No growth.
No freedom.
No purpose.

That painful trip to Cairo taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life:
Failure is not the end unless you quit.

Sometimes your lowest moments are preparing you for your greatest elevation.

And now here we are over a year later.

Self-employed.
Growing.
Healing.
Learning.
Preparing to welcome my son into this world.
Understanding that it’s okay to pause, listen to my body, care for my family, and trust that both my child and my business will continue to grow together.

This is the real story behind Burn the House Down BBQ.

Before the smoke.
Before the crowds.
Before the title of Smoke Queen.

This is where it started.

And from ashes we rise, and from flames we cook.
