Java Junction & Cafe Siena Serving the best coffee around Java Junction is a family-run company, started by brother and sister Robert (Skip) Pries and Robin Baker in 1992.

It began in an outdoor Gazebo Café decorated as "Java Jungle" at the Puyallup Fair where their enthusiasm for superior customer service and passion for gourmet coffee quickly gained popularity and demanded continuing service.


“Java Junction” on James Street was then constructed with a theme change and located next to the railway tracks near the corner of James Street and Central Avenue in Kent

, WA. Continuing to offer innovative beverage products and service, while faced with Auburn customers’ demand for another closer neighborhood café, “A Street Java Junction” was created to serve the Java Junction lovers of South Auburn. “M Street Java Junction” was then soon built to meet growing customer requests opened on the corner of Auburn Way South and M Street. Venturing out further from the world of pastries and "cups-o-joe", Pries and Baker soon set their sights on creating a cafe. Their dream was to develop a cafe environment that would offer a menu with outstanding espresso beverages, unique Panini Italian sandwiches, and gourmet deserts that could not be soon forgotten by their customers... and with the help of Greenlefe Cafe Services and Aptus Builders Corporation, that is exactly what they did! Cafe Siena soon came to life on the corner of Meeker Street and Russel Road in Kent, Wa. Soon, the growing voice of expanding to further serve our customers called us to the Starfire Sports Complex, where our trek to Tukwila led us to build Café Siena @ Starfire. BUT HISTORY IS HISTORY... Today, the Java Junction locations serve hundreds of customers each day; greeting them with a friendly "hello", providing them with the assured feeling that each customer is important and unique to every one of US... and leaving each visitor with a satisfying cup of coffee, a smile on their face and a little more coin in their pocket as they drive past Starbucks. Everyone please help me congratulate London on her huge achievement today!! 🎓🤍

London is graduating from UW Tacoma with her Bachelor of Arts in Writing Studies! She has been with us at Java Junction for the last 4 years, all while working hard toward her degree. Through the long nights, early mornings, and everything in between, she has always shown up with a smile on her face and given her all. Today she finally gets to celebrate something she’s had her heart set on for a long time, and we couldn’t be more proud of her. Here’s to the newest generation of writers and bookworms! 📚✨ London, we love you more than you know and are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished. Thank you for everything you’ve done, not only for us, but for yourself. Never stop being you, and don’t forget about us when you’re famous.

After leaving the Navy, while he could have been a commercial pilot, he didn’t want to be away from his young, growing family. So, he started his own business, now the home of all of your favorite drinks ☕️ With his love for coffee, starting a coffee stand was the perfect choice ✨
When he isn’t doing work around the stands, you can catch him spending time with his family, cruising around on his boat or cheering on the Seahawks 💚💙
