Emory Food-E Club

Emory Food-E Club Welcome to our official page! We're FoodE! Emory Foodies unite!

"Gastronaut Experience"
The Gastronaut Experience is distinct to individual growth and appreciation. Every month, approximately fifteen students will go to a dining establishment to seek new culinary experiences that challenge the mindset of traditional consumers by exploring cultural and bizarre cuisines

"Meet & Eat"- Meal with 10 strangers
Cultivated throughout history, a phenomena of "breakin

g bread" and enjoying people's company over a meal has a unifying effect. To break down social barriers, ten strangers will come together from the Emory student body to foster a greater understanding of the diversity of the Emory community. "Food Blog"
Once our blog site is launched, we will be updating the Emory community about our bucketlist of unique food culture in the greater Atlanta area.

Food Fact of the day: As you're about to heat up some ramen or mac n' cheese. This one's for you, convenience lovers:
"Microwave cooking was discovered accidentally, when a chocolate bar melted in someone’s pocketThis is very true and very scary – imagine what it was doing to his leg! The fact is, Percy LeBaron Spencer of the Raytheon Company was walking past a radar tube and he noticed that the chocolate bar in his pocket melted. He then tested popcorn in front of the tube (surely turning up the power and standing out of the beam), and it quickly popped all over the room. He is (obviously) known as the inventor of the Microwave oven."

Food Fact of the day: "The tomato is technically a fruit, not a vegetable. It was also the first genetically engineered whole product and went on the market in 1994. Since then, more than 50 other genetically engineered foods have been deemed safe by the FDA."
