Almost loaded out my 11th workday in last 13 days, nearly all of at least 10 hours, a few of 12 or 13, plus preproduction, admin, laundry, etc. It's been a good run - just one more teency-weency show for East Atlanta Strut on Saturday.

These are the Stuff They Don't Want You to Know hosts on my stage today, courtesy of Adweek 's in town this year. They're part of the Howstuffworks network (I'm a long-time fan of the original), and every bit as much fun in person as they are on the podcast. Thanks for the good time, guys!

Today starts a run working 16 of the next 20 days, and the few I have off are prep for things like the Brownwood Bike Rally on Saturday, or recovery from long days like the East Atlanta Strut on the 26th. In between, I've got general aessions and breakout rooms, school assemblies (pictured) and awards banquets. It was good - and necessary - to have down time over the summer, but I love all the events I do, and it's great to be working again.

My fourth year doing this "up close and personal" event with 10 of the best golfers on the planet, before they all go out and try win the PGA's capstone tournament. The unscripted moments between these competitors is priceless.

I often say education is the most important tool in my gig bag: it's not true (it's actually a Qbox), but I like the quote because it reminds me that audio is an always striving effort to be be better at my gig.

A key part of that effort are workshops and formal training on the protocols that underlie our system architecture, such as this one by Dante (and co-presented by Yamaha Audio) the last couple of days at this new campus housing a dizzying array of elite contributors in the live music industry.

It's been the ideal place to reach maximum nerdiness while probing the depths of networked audio. Certainly the highlight was a deep discussion session with Goose FOH Eric Loomis (on right), fresh off tour and sharing the exacting details of his gear, methodologies and experience mixing what's likely the hottest jam-band on the planet. It's fair to say we absolutely ate it up, and didn't leave a single db of crumbs.

Everything old is new again. Finishing out the week on a gig I first did more that 12 years ago (and for the fifth time in the last 3) - thanks to PRG North America for having me around all these years.
