PARCHMENT TROUT, pecan chaoshou sauce, herb samneh, potato, katzutz, alpine cheese, green coriander caper, bitter herbs, black shiranui five spice - now on the menu! My wife started making fish en papilotte at home from time to time and it reminded me of how much that old school preparation slaps, so our latest trout set at LB is a nod to her. We’re filling the parchment purses with lightly cured rainbow trout, potatoes poached in mustard oil, marinated katzutz salad of cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and summer onions, herbed samneh (Sephardic Jewish spiced, clarified butter), green coriander capers, red barn alpine style cheese and five spice laden with black shiranui orange powder. The pouches are served in tact for the guest to open tableside and slather with a hot and sour Sichuan wonton dressing, as well to top with bitter herb salad. Pro move: ask to add some of our house cured trout roe, available upon request!! Let’s have a lovely weekend, shall we? We love you! 💕🐾🐶

Our CDC, Kenny, composed this refreshing banger of a soup yesterday, wasting no time to put together a dish the moment our first peaches arrived. PORK TENDERLOIN, hot baijiu mustard, dilly cheese sauce, cocoa butter chili crisp, smashed snap cucumber, fish fragrant blueberry, pork skin spice, herb salad - now on the menu!! It’s still a little up and down out there but things are generally warming up and spring produce is starting to hit so we figured hot, grilled meat x cold, refreshing set would be a good combo. Especially paired with a bunch of sauces for dipping and schmearing and enjoying in plentiful quantity! 🚨NEW PRIX FIXE MENU🚨Inspired by one of my favorite cuisines in the world: Ethiopian! Our kitchen has started selecting new genres for the prix fixe by all of us throwing suggestions into a pint container, shaking it up and drawing one at random. This pick just so happened to be mine, a food my family and I grew up eating frequently that I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. It was also a major challenge for my crew since not everyone was familiar with the food and even for us who were, trying to create variety and flow when so much of the genre is comprised of similarly stewed dishes wasn’t easy. And yet, the team truly rose to the occasion and put together a wonderful menu for you all to enjoy, a menu which highlights the beauty of Ethiopian cuisine through a distinctly Little Bear lens. Let’s not forget how taxing this was on the bar for booze pack cocktails, as well, both of which turned out sensational! Picking wines was a blast, too. We sure hope you’ll come enjoy the fruits of our labor while this menu and its pairings are running!!

BRASSICAS, zhajiangmian sauce, sour chili oil, strawberry, mushroom, green garlic, chive, dill, rice mujadara spice - now on the menu! This dish is a collab between our CDC, Kenny, and I. She wanted to replace her wintery fattoush set with something lighter and more veg forward as we head into spring so we put our brains together for more than just lists or cleaning tasks, product ordering & updating the schedule and came up with something whacky and yummy. A salty and sweet fermented sea island red pea sauce modeled after the flavors of zhajiangmian noodles… a heavily acidified chili crisp hybrid condiment… salted strawberries and pickled mushrooms… a crunchy, crumbly spice topping based on the blend mujadara stews are built upon… Gorgeous spring brassicas, from brussels sprouts to collard raab, are charred, chilled and buried under these layers of flavor, like an avalanche victim trapped in rubble of deliciousness, waiting on a rescue dog to dig it out (that’s you, the rescue dog, eating this dish). RAW BEEF 65, scallion raita, apple turmeric purée, chili rice krispie, 65 spice, cilantro, lil’ gem lettuce - now on the menu from ! Our lead line cook, Will, came up with this spicy and refreshing delight of a tartare set and it is absolutely perfect for the changing of the seasons. Warming and packed full of fragrant flavors utilizing the last apples of the winter season but spicy, herbaceous and bright enough to show that spring is near. Or here? I don’t remember when that change happens officially but that’s neither here nor there… what is here is this incredible dish inspired by Chicken 65 at the Dog Restaurant™️ and what is there is you, there at your house or your job or the strip club looking at this post on your phone. EGG DROP KALE SALAD, egg drop soup dressing, cocoa butter chili oil, fennel, carrot, shiitake, apple, ga citrus ras el hanout, cilantro, frond - now on the menu! A slightly warm salad inspired by a bowl of egg drop soup, where the soup has been intensified in flavor and thickened further to act as a salad dressing, and warm cocoa butter chili oil adds fatty, comforting heat to the party. We’re getting such amazing late winter kale varieties right now and they’re tremendously flavorful when raw so highlighting them in a salad, especially since they’re sturdy enough to support warm dressings, felt like a fun idea. The next in a long line of Little Bear salads that are spicier, or onionier, or more herbaceous… or warmer… than salads most people are used to. Never a dull moment at the Dog Restaurant™️! COLEY’S GALETTE, strawberry, apple, chocolate/rice/benne bark, misc. peppercorns sorbet - now on the menu! Our sous chef, .hmmnd, put this new dessert together as a beautiful way to showcase the seasons changing. The final apples of the year mixed together with the first strawberries. And it’s totally vegan! She managed to work out a fantastic dough using cocoa butter from our friends at instead of butter so this galette is taking over our vegan dessert slot on the menu for a little while. The effort comes by way of laboriously hand making each and every galette, tempering chocolate just the right way & topping it at the exact moment when the bark ingredients will best adhere and dialing in the perfect sorbet sugar content for an ideal texture. Then, once plating happens, we can portray the illusion of simplicity and restraint, knowing the hard parts happened behind the scenes. Instead of giving away a bunch of free s**t and spending money we don’t have on a big party, we’re gonna celebrate by offering our regular menu AND birthday menu, which is the exact same menu except everything costs twice as much. Happy first birthday, Diego!!! We love you so much, little Schmutzi. To think some pieces of s**t up in North Georgia could abuse you as a puppy and throw you out of a moving car, or that anyone is capable of doing that to any animal, is unfathomable but their loss was our gain. You’ve come from a malnourished, skin infected, abused, scared puppy weighing barely 40 pounds with a cherry eye and worms to a big, beautiful, regal, gorgeously-coated young man with stunning eyes. Since June, you’ve put us through a real gauntlet that involved us hiring a trainer to try and harness your energy & reverse trauma, pushing ourselves to our mental and physical limits, and questioning our entire existences at times… but you’ve also healed our hearts in ways we never thought possible after losing Fernando. In spite of all the evil you saw in your first few months, you never lost your enthusiasm and it’s so inspiring. I’ve never met a dog so full of zeal, so deeply exiting for each and every moment of every single day. You’ve taught me to slow down and appreciate the small moments, as they’re all more important than we realize. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of us saying goodbye to Fernando, the hardest day we’ve had since the same day one year prior. Today, you turned one, and woke up like you fu***ng knew it was a party. You rescued us as much as we rescued you, baby Deeds, and we are so grateful to be your parents. Maybe you could stop getting into stuff in the dining room every few days when we leave you alone, though, to show your appreciation… baby steps. HBD, DiDi!! 💕🐾🐶

CHICKEN SATAY à la Kenny, our CDC! Chicken satay sausage, pecan satay sauce, kecap manis, jammy egg, winter greens, pork bumbu, cilantro - on the menu!! If only I could go back in time and enjoy fun dip as a kid with pork bumbu, comprised of homemade chicharrones ground into a spice blend, instead of diabetes powder… Well, I can’t rewrite my history but you still have time to write your future, a future that involves you, LB and a gullet-ful of satay, bumbu and jammy egg thanks to Kenny!! TROUT SAYADIEH, scallion rice, laban, tahini vin, fennel, baharat, parsley, chervil, benne sorghum crumble - new on the menu from our sous chef .hmmnd. Great work, Coley!! This Levantine fish dish is frequently a show stopping table star featuring a whole grilled fish but we aren’t trying to have $60 dishes all over the menu so this version using Bramlett rainbow trout from North GA is a bit more petite, yet stunning nonetheless. She’s crispy, she’s creamy, she’s sesame-y, she’s spiced, she’s riced, she’s the food so nice one table last night ordered her twice! Loving these vibes for a wintry fish dish. We’re open as usual tonight so don’t let Super Bowl Sunday stop you from trying Coley’s new dish if you’re looking to go somewhere without TVs. We love you! 💕🐾🐶

The only thing that’ll shut us down - utilities issues :-( Without heat, our dining room is in the 30s and that’s bad for guests and bad for our staff. We are open for normal service tonight, fam, AND as a special treat, we’re bringing back APRÉS BEAR tonight so you guys can enjoy some ski lodge themed snacks and bevies!! Chili cheese fries, chickie tendies with sauce trifecta, wedge caesars, boozy hot cocoa, cheap banquette + jäger combos and more!! We’ve worked really hard to stay open all weekend and be an option for hungry, bored and thirsty ATLiens during a time when a lot of places have closed up shop so come boogie. Your support would mean the world to us and in exchange, we’ll stuff your faces with yummy food and drinks!! Little Bear will be OPEN tonight (Sunday 1.25) and our usual hours next week, all seven nights. Our staff has the choice to work, or not work, based on their individual comfort level and the plan is to get a full crew in, rock our full menu and party as much as y’all want to! But, worst case over the next few nights, some of us live walking distance and will ride with a skeleton crew and limited menu to be of service to the neighborhood as a plan b, at the very least… Perhaps APRÉS BEAR MIGHT RETURN 👀👀👀 Hell, I’ve already started prepping sweet potato fries and chili, chicken tendies and other ski lodge treats so if y’all ask nicely, we might do it regardless… Regardless, one way or another, the Dog Restaurant™️ will be here for you in your time of need, dear intrepid travelers and hungry cubs. Bib Gourmand three years in a row!! Thank you, , for your continued support and understanding what we do here at LB. Most importantly, thank you to the staff of LB, including our very hard working Chef de Cuisine, Kenny (pictures here), for keeping things together and holding down the fort night after night. Two of the hardest things for a restaurant to achieve are consistency and staff retention, which are two things I’ve worked really hard to achieve at the dog restaurant. Consistency is always a work in progress and we have so much work to do as we continue ensuring we are at our best all the time without exception but we do put a tremendous amount of effort into that pursuit. Regarding staff retention, we’ve thankfully had very little turnover and I’ve loved seeing the crew grow in their roles as a result. I just spent seven nights away from the restaurant, the longest vacation break I’ve ever taken, and the crew kept the ship sailing in my stead without issues. Returning home after trusting them and seeing them successfully pull off a week without Papa Bear, then having this plaque brought to us, made me very proud. No marketing or PR, no budget, a smaller space and staff than almost any restaurant in town… but plenty of grit and charming dumbassery! Thanks for the love and support, ATL. Y’all allow us the space to be creative, push the limits of flavor and stay true to ourselves, which in turn has helped us command Michelin attention through sheer force of will. For that, we are so grateful. We love you and promise never to change from being our damn selves! 2026 LFGOOOOO 💕🐾🐶
