We are incredibly excited and honored to bring some of our Athens love and community to Madison, and can’t think of a better place to do it than at the Heart of the Valley YMCA. We promise to maintain our same level of commitment to the Athens community, even after we step into our neighboring community.

We're excited to announce that the Hogan Family YMCA is partnering with Coffee Off the Square—an Athens favorite—to bring a brand-new coffee shop experience to the Y this July!

Soon, members and guests will be able to enjoy:

☕ Freshly brewed coffee
🥤 Smoothies
🍓 Açaí bowls
🥪 Grab-and-go food options
😊 A welcoming space to connect, recharge, and refuel

Whether you're stopping in before your workout, grabbing a smoothie after a class, meeting a friend, or taking a break between activities, the new coffee shop will offer another way to make the most of your Y experience.

We're proud to partner with a local favorite like Coffee Off the Square to create a space that brings people together and strengthens community.

Art is so personable and important to many of us. Our shop is incredibly lucky to have wonderfully talented customers that we are proud to call friends. As soon as Jamie Ward presented this piece to me, I felt a special connection to it- please welcome our official Coffee off the Square mascot! This piece is officially titled "Anybunny Order a Latte" and was inspired by Michelle the Painter's original design. We are officially looking for a mascot name, please feel free to give us ideas for this beautiful piece! Ps. Good morning, and happy Cinco de Mayo 🇲🇽 We are excited to announce that our espresso machine is back up and running again. ☕️ Also, if you have not had the opportunity to try our family restaurant, Elizabeth’s Cocina Mexicana , today is a great day to do so with some holiday specials! 🌮 Some of our coffee shop staff will be present during dinner service, so a friendly familiar face will greet you 👀

Good morning our Athens community. We are incredibly saddened to share that we have to close for the rest of today. Our espresso machine is having some difficulties and is not operable this morning. Rest assured, we have called a repair tech to get us back up and running as soon as possible! We sincerely apologize and hope to be back open soon to continue serving all of our amazing customers! We promise to make this up to you in the near future and thank you for your continued support.

Good morning, Athens! You may have noticed we are off to a slow start this morning. Car problems! It wouldn’t be called a problem if it didn’t happen at the worst time possible. We are so excited to kick off the first Fridays After Five event of 2026 tomorrow, April 24th! We will be staying late, so it’s a perfect time to check us out if you haven’t had a chance to do so! We are incredibly excited to be partnering with Seibert Hearth and Oven LLC to bring you delicious whole baked goodies... our favorite is definitely the Maple Croissant Twists which will all be available inside of our shop for this special event. These events and partnerships could not be possible without all of the hard work put together by Athens Main Street. We would also love to give a shout out to someone incredibly special on their team. Jennifer Bridges, thank you for being a special friend to our shop.

Good morning Athens, we opened just a little bit later than usual today, and we will be closing at 5:00 pm as well. If you had to work today come on in for a delicious hot drink (or DoorDash if you are cozy at home). For all first responders and utility workers, we will be doing 50% off your drinks all day today January 26th to thank you for your hard work during these unpredictable days.
