By popular demand, we have schedule an exam date for those needing to get their private applicator license. This is for those who need to buy certain chemicals or larger amounts to apply on their own crops. The test will be held on March 8 here at the Athens County Extension Office. We will be starting at 2 PM. There is no cost to take the test, just to get the license once you have passed. You must take the Core section test and at least one other category in order to get a license. Once you pass the test, you will just have to recertify every (3) years with no additional testing (unless you let your license lapse).

Test study material is available here at our office.
Core workbook - $8
Category 1 – Row Crops workbook - $8
Category 2 – Forage Crops & Livestock – Free
Category 3 – Fruits & Vegetables – Free
Category 4 – Nursery & Forestry – Free
Category 5 – Greenhouses – Free
Category 6 – Fumigation – Free

Please let me know if you have any questions.
