Jerry Hatem used to come to JDF every morning. Olivier let him come behind the counter and serve himself a cup of drip coffee. He knew each staff member so well that he gave us all nicknames. He created his own breakfast that he would enjoy almost everyday. Jerry passed away in 2019, and his custom breakfast was added to our menu. The entire Hatem family came to celebrate Jerry after his passing and spent time at JDF.

When they found out we were closing, the Hatem’s booked a trip to Aspen and brought Jerry’s community together to celebrate his home-away-from home. They took over JDF and we honored Jerry, the impact he had on and the JDF legacy that brought so many people together over the years! Thanks to everyone who came for making this end-of-an-era something to celebrate ❤️🙏

In loving memory of Martha Lutrell, a long-time regular of JDF. She came for breakfast almost everyday for many years and would order the Supermax Omelette with GF toast for herself, and a side of scrambled eggs for her pup, Leo. This was her holiday card from 2021. She always got each of our employees a thoughtful Christmas gift and took the time to get to know all of us. It’s people like Martha that kept Jour De Fête alive for so long. She will be greatly missed ❤️✨

The locally owned and operated Jour de Fete in Aspen, which has operated during five decades serving French-inspired food, is closing at the end of January.
