Pawpaw Ice Cream Returns today - see all the details below! With the help of our friends at Milkweed Meadows Farm, we’re thrilled to announce that dairy and vegan Pawpaw Ice Cream is back at all four locations of The Hop Ice Cream starting today, October 2nd!

What’s a Pawpaw? - Often called “Appalachia’s best-kept secret,” the pawpaw has thin green skin, large brown seeds, and a custard-like golden flesh with tropical notes of mango, banana, vanilla, and pineapple. Beyond being delicious, pawpaws are vital for pollinators. The leaves are the only food source for zebra swallowtail butterflies.

Purchase Limit - We had a very limited amount of Pawpaws this year and we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to try it. That means this year we’re putting a purchase limit in place.
• Maximum 1 pint of Pawpaw per person
• Must be present to purchase a pint
• No Pawpaw quarts
• Scoops and other menu items are available as normal
• This applies at all Hop locations

Pawpaw Trees - To celebrate, Asheville GreenWorks will join us at The Hop on Merrimon Ave today from 3–6pm with info on their environmental work and pawpaw seedlings available for purchase. Asheville GreenWorks has been inspiring and mobilizing community-led environmental action since 1973.

Pupkin Happy Tails Doggie Ice Cream is off-leash! Oh, how I adore puppies!!!

Crafted for my waggish companion, the legendary Black Hound of Pond Road - whose haunting howl is such sweet sorrow - Pupkin entwines The Hop's OG peanut butter banana Doggie Ice Cream with bewitching pumpkin puree.

But beware, when your loyal furry fiends take that first lick, they may undergo a most peculiar transformation... Like the Black Hound emerging from the mist, they may become something altogether otherworldly.

Pawpaw Ice Cream Update! We had a very limited amount of Pawpaws this year and we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to try it. That means this year we’re putting a purchase limit in place.

The Details:
• Maximum 1 pint of Pawpaw per person
• Must be present to purchase a pint
• No Pawpaw quarts
• Scoops and other menu items are available as normal
• This applies at all Hop locations
