There's a new king in this kitchen.

When former chef de cuisine Sean McMullen went south to lead the new Riva Mare, it was pretty clear who'd be filling his boots. Now, we're exuberant to announce to the world that the mantle has fallen. Chef Maust — our unstoppable sous chef from the start — will helm the Luminosa kitchen under Graham House.

Chef Maust (rhymes with "bossed") has always brought a full-hearted energy to the team, with equal parts drive and good humor. He's a champion of the Modern Appalachian techniques and sourcing that have made Luminosa its identity, and we can't wait to see what he brings to the literal table in this role.

All gas, no brakes!

Ditch the scene and come fly fishing on a private riverbend in the Blue Ridge, with a Luminosa picnic and a hotel night all wrapped in.

In partnership with Hunter Banks, a local fly fishing outfitter and trip guide, The Flat Iron Hotel invites guests to immerse themselves in the outdoor bounty of Western North Carolina through this immersive fly fishing experience. Ideal for beginners and intermediate levels, this guided, half-day, waded, fly fishing experience takes guests to Ivy Bend, a privately owned 20-acre property with half a mile of riverfront access to learn the art of fly fishing in a quiet, controlled, and picturesque setting. Guests will also enjoy a luxe, packed picnic lunch from onsite restaurant, Luminosa, to take and enjoy on the excursion.
