Five years of La Rumba Restaurant Latino! ❤️🎉

On October 18, La Rumba Restaurant Latino will officially celebrate five years.

When owners Reynaldo Macario and Luis Rodriguez opened the doors in 2021, they had a vision for something different, a restaurant rooted in authentic Southern Mexican cuisine, sharing the flavors, family recipes and traditions of Mexico with Asheville.

Building that wasn’t always easy, especially when the food wasn’t what some people typically expected. But they stayed true to what they wanted La Rumba to be, continued introducing the community to their food, and little by little, built the relationships that have made La Rumba what it is today.

Today, the original menu of 26 dishes has grown to 70, including more than 20 vegan options!

Here’s to five years of La Rumba and many more to come! 🥂🎉

The last five years have been measured in more than dishes served. They live in the birthdays, first dates, anniversaries, family dinners, and special moments shared around our tables.

As October 18 approaches, we want to hear from you: What is your favorite La Rumba Restaurant Latino dish or memory? Tell us below—and tag the person you want beside you on your next visit.

Thank you, AIR, Asheville Independent Restaurant Association for beautifully capturing part of our journey.

🏆 ASHEVILLE, WE DID IT!

La Rumba Restaurant Latino has been voted 1st Place — Latin American in Mountain Xpress Best of WNC 2026.

Five years ago, La Rumba began with a dream: to share our culture, family recipes, and the Southern Mexican flavors of our roots.

Today, this recognition belongs to our entire La Rumba team — and to you, our neighbors. Every visit, every family you brought with you, every recommendation, every review, and every vote helped us reach this moment.

Five years later, that dream continues to grow — new dishes, evolving menus, and the same passion for sharing our culture at every table.

Five years. Thousands of memories. One incredible community.

Asheville, thank you for voting for us and being part of our story.

Every bite celebrates our roots.

With gratitude,
Reynaldo, Luis & the La Rumba Family

As summer winds down and families return to their school-year routines, we’re making just one small change to our schedule.

Beginning Thursday, August 27, La Rumba will close one hour earlier on Thursdays—at 9:00 PM instead of 10:00 PM.

All other hours remain the same. We continue serving Asheville seven days a week, with Friday and Saturday nights open until 10:00 PM.

Join us this week for lunch or dinner and make La Rumba part of your week!

Thank you for your continued support!
