We are proud to announce our partnership with at our downtown Asheville taproom brewery.

We will be launching our new menu on Thursday 14th August from 5-9pm. Come out and enjoy new beer releases, live music and show our new partners some love.

We’ve been quiet on FB lately, but still working on the comeback! Dano and Krewe will be cooking up the favorites in downtown Asheville soon! Expanding from Terra Nova Beer Co. Swannanoa to their downtown location in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for the opening day in downtown Asheville!

We are happy to announce that after a difficult four months, we are now in a position to open our Swannanoa tap room. We are aiming for a late February opening.

Terra Nova will be serving up your favorite beers in addition to some new offerings that Kyle (our brewer) has been working since getting water back.

We are also excited to be working with Dano Holcomb, founder of food truck. You may have tried his food at Salvage Station or at New Belgium where he serves up Creole, French and Southern style eats. Unfortunately Dano lost his kitchen and food truck in the Helene floods.  We are so fortunate to have him cooking for Swannanoa!  

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and see all the familiar faces.

The good 'ol days. Enjoy this video of our previous home at Salvage Station. We hope everyone is staying safe out there and getting the support you need. We will soon be working on a plan of how and when to come back. Our community has a long road ahead of us. We will keep you posted and thanks so much for all of your support! We love our Root Down family. 🍲💚

With a heavy heart, I am sad to share the news that the future of Root Down is uncertain. We will be closed until further notice.
In a matter moments, we lost our kitchen (at Salvage Station) and Food Truck which were both under water and destroyed during Hurricane Helene. We lost 100% of everything Root Down & Kitchen related and thusly, all avenues of revenue.
Luckily and gratefully, my family & staff are all safe and accounted for, but all out of work and facing the abyss of uncertainty and growing possibility of permanent displacement from the city they love.
It saddens and humbles me to ask for help, but these are dark unprecedented days. We will have reimbursement from insurance to cover part of our losses, but we will continue to need support and love if we have any chance to rebuild. Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help and I sincerely appreciate it.

Many of you have already given to the thousands of people with similar unimaginable stories, and our grieving community can’t thank you enough. Every gesture will help us get back on the road to recovery. We need you. This will be a long journey.
