What a year. Two weeks left and 2024 is for big changes.

2023 was crazy to say the least. Started the year with a great Restaurant and Nightclub. Learned in March what it was like to be hunted and threatened. May brought a fire and when it was extinguished, it showed me the true meaning of friendships.

Now the end of the year ends with more massive changes.

January will be a new chapter of my amazing life. Stay tuned for details.

DRAG STORY TIME!
By now, I am sure that every has heard or read about our unwanted visitor at our Saturday All ages Drag Show on Saturday May 13th. Not that we haven’t had unwanted visitors before, but this visitor took out a phone and videotaped a small portion of a performance and left. The next day, this Journalist, which I will use the term very lightly, wrote an article that should have applauded our efforts but instead twisted the story so that he would get people to give him money. This wasn’t about his journalistic style or him reporting the truth, no, he wrote an article so that he would rob his followers of more money.

Ever since our last President, when crooked people want money, they write, speak or do something that gets a particular group upset so that when they ask for money, these followers, which we will use the term “sheep” hand over money for a cause no one even knows why it exists.

I have owned restaurant and night clubs for a better part of 24 years. I have always had drag performances at all of my establishments. I like drag. Some of my best friends have been drag queens. And I have had some of the best drag performers at my establishments. Back in San Francisco we had Sn**ch, Kristie K and Patrick better known as Patty May. I have been fortunate enough to have the best local drag in the Northwest at my clubs. Long before Rupaul and his made for television drag queens, I have always booked local performers and believe that if you can afford a Rupaul price tab, you can pay that locally.

So Sunday, the article comes out and we start seeing an uptick in website visits from all over the world. Over 200 hits on Sunday alone. Then we start getting the death threats and nasty grams. And many of them have the same theme as last year, Drag Queens are Groomers. So I have replied to these people asking them what drag queens are grooming kids for. And to this very second, not one person can tell me what they are grooming kids for. Now I suspect that they think a drag queen has the power to turn someone gay. Some of the comments in the letters make reference to cross dressers and trans. But a Drag Queen is not a cross dresser and in most cases, they aren’t trans either, but there are some.

But I’m being serious, What is a Drag Queen grooming? Are they grooming kids to be make up artists, dress designers, dancers? I have tried a couple times to do drag. I CAN’T Dance. And I needed help to put on my makeup and still looked like an 80 year old preachers wife. It was ugly.

Some of the questions have asked if we have vetted or looked into the backgrounds of drag queens. I know most of the drag queens. I usually know their partners, spouces, husbands or wives. I know where they work and with some I know their parents and have met their children. What is there to vet?

Everyday, parents pack their kids up and send them to school, church, after school activities, doctors and over to friends houses where they are more likely to be molested by them than a drag queen. We still hear in the news everyday about coaches, teachers, church leaders, scout leaders being charged with s*x crimes. Are the parents not vetting these people who are taking care of their kids?

In the drag world, I have never had a drag performer say, let’s invite kids. They would much rather have adults because of the nature of drag. IT has been the parents of these kids wanting us to have an all ages show. Their kids, who may or may not be questioning their s*xuality, are the people asking for this.

On this Saturday, this reporter could have asked to interview any one of these parents, the owners, or the staff, but did not. Isn’t that odd? A reporter wanting to report something never asked anyone a question but instead posted a video with a bunch of lies and the people following him believed it. Are they not capable of wondering why he didn’t ask questions. He wrote that he contacted me, but it wasn’t until after he posted this video and started asking for money. Make no mistake, his website is filled with click bait advertising. This was never about a journalistic story.
