Cha cha changes! I think it’s the month of changes-
Chip talked about all the changes to happening at Hey Nonny and I’m stoked. Change is sometimes stupidly hard and scary but ultimately, I think thoughtful changes end up with a pretty dang good outcome (After lots of stress, second guesses, hard decisions and some bumpy roads along the way). Hey Nonny 2.0 is going to be its best yet. I’m thankful we have leadership and a team that really cares about Hey Nonny and its mission. The slow roll out is still happening so bear with us as we navigate the changes. We will all get the hang of things soon enough.
It’s also the month of going back to school for lots of us- as teachers, parents, students. I know it’s hard to believe I’m old enough to have a 20-year-old, but I do! I’m writing this as we move him in for his sophomore year of college in a new apartment (that’s nicer than any college apartment I remember many years ago) and sending my youngest off to his junior HS year. All the changes happening-new year, new room, new teacher, new students and all the emotions (mostly stress and annoyance if you’re moving a kid halfway across the country who’s very strong willed with no idea where he gets that).
And it’s the month of a total solar eclipse. If you believe in astrological symbolism, it can mean an amplified fresh start, or doorway to a new chapter and fosters the thought that transitions need to interrupt the familiar for new growth and transformation. If you don’t believe in it then it was still the month of a really cool scientific event occurring precisely during a new moon.
So, cheers to August and all the CHANGES!
