It’s hard to fully capture what Saturday meant to this community.

Tacolalah was more than a festival—it was a day filled with connection, culture, laughter, and moments that will stick with us.

To our vendors, thank you for the incredible food, unique offerings, and energy you brought to the park.

To our entertainers, you were the heartbeat of the day. Your performances brought people together and made the event truly special.

To our volunteers, thank you for being the steady force behind the scenes. From setup to cleanup, you made it all possible.

And to our community… you showed up, supported one another, and made the entire day something special.

We’re grateful, we’re proud, and we’re already looking forward to next year.

We appreciate the City of Arkansas City for helping recognize this special day and the tradition behind it.

Now it’s time to celebrate—join us Saturday at Wilson Park for Tacolalah.

At the April 7, 2026, City Commission meeting, Commissioner Charles Tweedy III read a proclamation recognizing May 2, 2026, as Cinco de Mayo Day in Arkansas City. The proclamation has become a tradition that highlights Tacolalah, a free, family-friendly multicultural festival celebrating Latino culture through music, dance, food, and art.

Tacolalah Committee member Tammy Lanman-Henderson accepted the proclamation on behalf of the event.

This year’s festival will take place Saturday, May 2, at Wilson Park, with activities running from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Ark City Rec Color Run will kick things off at 9 a.m.
