Today we’re saying “see you later” to one of our own.

Tyrone, thank you for everything you’ve done for Bad Bones over the past few years. Your hard work, dependability and the energy you brought to this place never went unnoticed. We’re grateful you chose to spend part of your journey with us, and we couldn’t be prouder of where that journey is taking you next.

Best of luck as you head to Concordia University Wisconsin to fulfill your dream of playing college football. We know you’ll bring the same heart and work ethic to the field that you brought through our doors every day.

Go chase it, Tyrone. We can’t wait to come watch you play and do a little tailgating Bad Bones style. Remember no matter where life takes you, you’ll always be part of the Bad Bones family.

Moved our son Zane into his off-campus house today in Oshkosh, so we treated ourselves to a late lunch at Ruby Owl Taproom.

Those cheese curds... wow. 🤤 And the steak sandwich was outstanding.

We love finding great local spots when we're away from Bad Bones. If you're ever in Oshkosh, this one's worth the stop. Here's to small businesses feeding people well. 🍻

We spend a lot of time feeding this community. These folks spend a lot of time protecting it.

This weekend, if you're looking for something fun to do after grabbing some BBQ (or before 😉), head over to the Arbor Vitae Fireman's Summerfest and support our friends at Arbor Vitae Fire & Rescue🚒.

Food. Cold beer. Live music. Raffles. Fireworks. Kids activities. It's everything a great Northwoods summer weekend should be, and it's all in support of the volunteers who are always there when our community needs them most.

We all hope we never need to call 911, but it's comforting to know these men and women are ready when that call comes.

Thank you to every member of Arbor Vitae Fire & Rescue for your time, sacrifice, and dedication to our community. We appreciate everything you do.

If you've got an hour or two this weekend, stop by, have some fun, and show them the support they've earned. 🚒❤️

Everybody loves busy season...
..until they're the ones living it.

The line cooks are sweating through another shirt before lunch.

The front of house is answering the same questions with the same smile for the 200th time.

The dish pit looks like it's trying to drown somebody.

The prep crew is already thinking about tomorrow while everyone else is still eating today's brisket.

And somehow... these crazy sons of guns show up and do it all again the next day.

No excuses.
No drama.
Just work.

This crew has been absolutely busting their asses all summer. Week after week they've carried the load, looked out for each other, and kept the wheels turning even when the place feels like controlled chaos.

If you've been in this summer and had a great meal, laughed with one of our cashiers, got your food quicker than you expected, or watched our team sprint around like their hair was on fire...

That's because of them.

So here's to the Bad Bones crew.

The ones covered in smoke, sauce, grease, dishwater, and sweat.

The ones who don't get enough credit.

We appreciate every single one of you.

Now quit reading this... we've got briskets to cook. 🤘

If you've eaten at Bad Bones over the last 9+ years, you've probably noticed the Kansas and Wisconsin flags hanging from the ceiling of our dining room.

For just as long, a few of our favorite summer regulars from Missouri have given us a hard time about that Kansas flag. If you know anything about Kansas and Missouri, you know the rivalry runs deep.

Tonight they completely caught us by surprise.

They walked in carrying a Missouri state flag signed by all of them and told us it was time Missouri had a place in the dining room too.

How could we say no?

Kansas will always be home. Wisconsin will always be where we chose to build our life. And now Missouri has officially joined the family.

One of the best parts about Bad Bones is that, over the years, this place has become just as much yours as it is ours. The things hanging on these walls and ceilings aren't just decorations—they're reminders of the friendships we've built with people who come back summer after summer.

To our Missouri friends... thanks for the laugh, the surprise, and for making yourselves part of the Bad Bones story.

Now don't expect us to stop giving you grief just because your flag is hanging up. 😉

No stage lights. No ticket booth. Just a guy with a guitar, great songs, cold drinks, and the smell of wood smoke rolling through the Northwoods.

Grab some BBQ, pull up a chair, and settle in for one of our favorite kinds of Sunday evenings.
