The Painted Rocks~
I had no intentions in making another post regarding this. But after a few comments that were made on my initial post and a few messages that were sent to me I thought I would briefly address it.
I am fully aware that it is common to paint rocks and leave them in public places for others to find and enjoy or to take and leave for others. I have loved this concept since it became a trend several years ago.
Yes, I watched a mother with a toddler in her arms lean into the counter so her daughter could reach the rock. No biggie, that's a daily occurrence. Those rocks were placed on the counter and have brought smiles to countless people and been handled by many little hands. That's why they're there, along with my fresh cut flower bouquets. ( mind you that rock immediately went in that toddler's mouth, eew.. )
It was how it all took place that was troublesome! I also watched her other daughter run up to the counter and scoop the other rock like it was hot loot and run off off full throttle with it. Again, not that big of a deal. Kiddos will be kiddos. It is what transpired several minutes prior to the rocks being taken, and what took place several minutes after the fact that left me flabbergasted, disappointed, and disheartened by this mother and father duo ( not their children). And without getting into specific details of every minute, broken down of what took place, all I can tell you is they had absolutely zero regard or respect for anyone else around them (it was a busy evening), let alone me or my business. My initial post was simply about accountability. I know some of you were trying to offer a different perspective, which I can appreciate. But in this instance it was so much more than rocks being taken. I could take the footage and share it with you all along with their faces, but I can do better than being that petty. Now, I will be abundantly clear about this. At no point will I allow or tolerate my patrons, myself, or my property to be disrespected. With the exception of the intentional fire here in 2021, I don't think I have had to gripe about anything on social media in 14 seasons. This particular situation was beyond unsettling!
End of story...
