Tonight! Wine Down Thursday: Wine Crush!
June 18 | 6–7:30pm
Sampler: $20/person
Certain wines have that instant spark of connection. You don't have to search for nuance or dissect every detail; something about the wine simply speaks to you. That effortless pull, that instant magic, is exactly what we're pouring this week.
Join us tonight as we share three wines we're currently crushing on, personally selected by Katie, Crystal, and Kasia. From the windswept coast of northwestern Spain to the rolling hills of Slovenia and the historic vineyards of France's Loire Valley, we'll explore three distinctive bottles and the stories behind them—and why they've earned a place on our current favorites list.
Featured Wines
• 2023 Do Ferreiro Albariño
Widely regarded as a benchmark producer of Albariño, Do Ferreiro is located in the Val do Salnés, the heart of Spain's Rías Baixas. Gerardo Méndez and his father Francisco were among the original 14 growers who founded the appellation in 1988. The region's ocean influence and natural mountain protection create ideal conditions for Albariño, resulting in a wine that is vibrant, crisp, and endlessly refreshing, with bright lime notes, stony minerality, and a lingering saline finish.
• 2019 Kabaj Sauvignon Blanc
Nestled in the hills of western Slovenia near the Italian border, Kabaj is a winery shaped by perseverance and tradition. Inspired by travels to Georgia, winemaker Jean-Michel Morel employs skin contact across all white wines. This Sauvignon Blanc spends seven days on its skins and ages 24 months in French oak, yielding honeyed florals, savory herbs, and mineral depth.
• 2019 Domaine de la Chevalerie “Galichets” Bourgueil
Since 1640, the Caslot family has farmed in Bourgueil, one of the Loire's great Cabernet Franc appellations. Today, the 14th generation tends 33 certified biodynamic hectares with minimal intervention. Sourced from 60-year-old vines and aged in large old barrels, Galichets is the most approachable wine in their parcellaire lineup, offering generous notes of plum, cassis, earthy spice, and supple tannins.
