We’re all saying goodbye to our general manager Rahsaan rahsaan as he moves on in his hospitality journey! 😢

He’s known around the bar as witty, wise, and endlessly knowledgeable. He’s always ready with a quip and a helping hand, in constant search of paper clips, and encouraging all of those who come to him.

He’s made such an impact at TLW and will be greatly missed, but we are so excited to those who get to work with him next and of course for him and his new adventure! 🫶

Cocktail Battle 2026 finale is finally set!

August 19th @ 6:30 they will all be serving up their best cocktail. No special ingredients, just what they feel like making. The awesome kitchen at Last Word will be providing some tasty snacks! Danny Fantom will be DJ’ing, providing some dancing music for this epic finale.

Employee spotlight time:

Meet Elisabeth…she is one of the many amazing teammates we have at The Last Word. She’s a server mostly but you can see her at the host stand, sometimes cutting fruit, she’s kinda like Houdini and just shows up anywhere and everywhere🤟🏽

Here are some fun little facts about her:

💪🏼She’s worked at The Last Word since November
💪🏼She runs the late night comedy club at Umich which was the first and is the only sketch comedy club!
💪🏼She’ll be graduating in spring of 2027 with a creative writing and history major
💪🏼Favorite drink at The Last Word : the Cupid shuffle
💪🏼Favorite food menu item at The Last Word : she’s feeling the new ahi tuna nachos on the menu
💪🏼music group she’s got on repeat: LCD Soundsystem
💪🏼The most important question we had to ask her: does pineapple belong on pizza? “Hard NO”

Come say hey to Elisabeth! She’s super smart, obviously funny, probably eating some tuna nachos in the back, and she can’t wait to craft your next experience with us…just don’t bring up pineapple on pizza 😎

In Last Word’s corner, the OG, the one and only Kevin will be defending his home turf.

So we were going to do a ticketed event with a yacht party theme…instead of it being a ticketed event we wanted more people to enjoy it!
We still have a DJ, local legend Todd Osborn will be spinning some smooth yacht jams! We’ve got some fresh new cocktails and some new food menu items to try!

This Saturday starting at 5 is when it all goes down so we hope to see you then!
