Breaking news: we're running out of summer.

Grade A Gardens tells us their tomato season probably has another 2-3 weeks to go, which means the Local Margaret does too.

We're making this special version with fresh tomatoes, basil and garlic from Grade A Gardens, plus fresh mozzarella from The Cheese Shop of Des Moines. Fresh, local and pretty hard to beat this time of year.

Available as a 14" pizza at our Drake location only, while the tomatoes last.

Day 2 of the Drake store reno…

The crew just about finished repairing and sanding all the wainscoting and trim, and started staining. Back of house concrete floors got polished and sealed. And one of the owners’ moms refinished our large high-top tables.

A reminder that our Drake store is closed for a few days for a well-deserved glow-up. Catering and our Ankeny store are still open!

Our Drake location will be closed Monday, Aug. 10 through Wednesday, Aug. 12 while we give the place a well-earned facelift.

We've been serving pizza from this location since 2018 and, after thousands of pies and countless customers, we figured it was time to spend a few days working on ourselves.

We're freshening things up with new paint, fresh stain, furniture repairs, a few upgrades, and some behind-the-scenes improvements to make things run even better.

We'll be back with a little glow-up before you know it.

A big thank you to for everything they do in the Drake neighborhood and for their help on this project.

Grab some slices while we're open this weekend and we'll see you again soon! 👷

August is peak tomato season so we figured it was the perfect excuse to do something special with The Margaret.

We decided it was the perfect time to give our take on the Margherita a seasonal upgrade with a special partnership from our friends at Grade A Gardens and the The Cheese Shop of Des Moines.

For a limited time, we're serving a locally sourced version featuring fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic from Grade A Gardens, along with fresh mozzarella from The Cheese Shop in Des Moines. It's the same Margaret you know, just made with some of Iowa's best seasonal ingredients.

This special version is available only as a 14" pizza at our Drake location while local ingredients last.

Looking for The Margaret in another size? We've still got the classic version available at both locations.
