Happy Saturday, Angels.

We have a new dessert on the menu today - Rosemary shortbread. A savory sweet ode to Scotland. 2 squares for $3.

Menu:
*Chicken pot pie with mash or pastry top
*Beef cottage pot pie with mash or pastry top
*Indian butter chicken pot pie (pastry top)
*Vegetarian lentil and mushroom pot pie (pastry top)
*Gluten-friendly baked potato with chicken or beef pot pie filling on the top

Side dish:
*Tangy and sweet coleslaw

Sweet:
*Rosemary shortbread

Drinks:
*Variety of canned sodas and water

You can now get a full meal to take home or enjoy just outside our place. Small outdoor seating is available just outside The Kilted Viking. Hope to see you here!☺️

Vegetarian or (For People Who Hate Meat) pies will be ready for dinner tonight.

Brown and Red lentils, celery, carrots, onions, fresh tumeric, fresh garlic and fresh ginger, sautéed in butter and cooked in a homemade vegetarian stock (made with carrot peels, celery, onion paper, leeks, thyme, rosemary, apples, ginger, turmeric, garlic and black peppercorns). Served in puff pastry with oven roasted garlic and thyme Cremini mushrooms and queso fresco under the top crust. I wasn't quite sure how this would come out, but it is actually really good. I'd love to hear actual vegetarian feedback on them tIhough. I kinda want to make it spicy... but I'll let you tell me. Maybe do a spicy variant? I'm going to put some in the oven in about an hour. So by dinner they will be ready.

A NEW drop - we have added a new side to go with your pie or sausage roll!!

Come by and try our tangy coleslaw - it is a perfect tangy and sweet blend with cabbage, carrots, and onions with our homemade dressing. $5 for half a pound serving.

The Viking is back in the shop today. Working hard and meditating on these truths.

Anyways I am here after a difficult few days of burying the person most responsible for making me who I am. She taught me never to quit and to persevere in all circumstances so I will honor her memory and do just that. We have a few new items coming onto the menu this week. Vegetarian week. We have a slaw that we are going to try for a crisp, crunchy, tangy bite next to the pies. Hopefully I can get the lentils cooked today for Veggie pies tomorrow. Pop in and say, "Hi" and buy a pie.

THANK YOU for letting us have a much-needed break to spend with family remembering the Viking's mother. Also, for all the words of encouragement and messages that came pouring in. Your support is deeply valued and appreciated with this family, more than you know.

We are back for the rest of this afternoon and evening. Thank you for your patience as we build back up our pies.

***Please note that The Kilted Viking is CLOSED today Saturday the 29th of August, Sunday 30th, Monday the 31st and Tuesday for half the day. We will be open sometime in the afternoon on Tuesday.***

Closed for my mom's memorial service out of town. Thank you all for your support and the many comments and expressions of sympathy as you have visited us since her passing. She was an amazing woman and she is living in Glory in the presence of Almighty God and all of her believing family and friends who God called home before her. My dad, our three children who we never got to know, my grandparents, and Aunty Ruth. So many friends and colleagues from over the years. They are having a grand time. We miss them all. We believe we will be reunited with them in heaven through Christ. There is hope in this world. To have to go through life without that hope seems cruel and hateful. If you do not have that hope and want to know more about it please do not ever hesitate to ask. I am a Viking, but I have been wholly saved by the True King. Who has overcome the world and offered a way of salvation for sinners.
