Better late than never 🤭

We’re taking a little time to rest AND to say THANK YOU to all of you who work hard every day to keep our little corner of the world going. 🤍

Tyson and I also want to extend an extra special thank you to those who labor alongside us... our Freedom Crew, volunteers, partners, bakers, vendors, donors, prayer warriors and friends who continually show up and help us love and serve our community well.

We could never do what we do without people willing to put their hands to the work. And we’re incredibly grateful for each of you.

🎉SIXTY KIDS🎉came through the doors today 😭

Excuse me while I BAWL.MY.EYES.OUT!!

It's not even the fact that we got to see 60 kiddos walk through the door today. While that's super cool, it's because today was such a full circle moment for us as I turned the mic over to Cassidy Berry to lead the lesson for NextGen.

The CRAZY thing is that Cassidy was in our middle school youth group WAY BACK in the gap when Tyson and I were youth leaders at FBCA. Today, as she lead the lesson, her sweet Hadlea was sitting in the room as a middle schooler just like she sat in our room all those years ago.

I would have never imagined getting the privilege to pour into, well, literally, the NextGen. I am feeling super nostalgic, super grateful and, well, super old too ! 😭🤭🤣

I am so grateful for ALL the volunteers that have come to us - we could not do it without all of them and all of you! I will definitely be making a separate post about that as well!

Our cup is truly overflowing right now and we can't thank God and you all enough.

🌀☔️ STORM HOURS UPDATE ☔️🌀

Freedom Fam, this weather is basically begging you to grab a good book, curl up on the couch with a warm cup of coffee… or throw on a movie and eat snacks all day. ☕️🍿

We support both options. 😂

Since Texas weather likes to keep us guessing, Freedom Café will be closing at NOON today.

BUT before you head home to hunker down, come see us! Our cooler is stocked with plenty of grab and go goodness to keep you fed, caffeinated and nourished without having to cook a thing.

Swing by, stock up, grab your favorite drink, and then get yourself home and cozy.

Thursdays mean we provide more than PB&Js and snacky snacks! I asked the kids what they were hungry for yesterday and they said tacos, soooooo, tacos it is!

Also, they LOVE fruit! When asked what type of better option snacks we could provide, nearly all of them told me that they love fruit - soooo, fruit's on the menu too!

For those of you who have provided funds specifically for NextGen - thank you - we are so grateful and so are they!!

🎉HAPPY THURSDAY 🎉

It looks dark and dreary right now but it can still be the best day ever!!

45+ kiddos today. ❤️

We played UNO, shot hoops, talked about what it means to walk with the wise, refereed a little chaos 😂 and fed approximately a bagillion hungry teenagers.

And then, somewhere in the middle of it all, I looked up from the UNO cards and for just a second, I saw her momma’s face staring back at me. 😭

It startled me a little.

Because here was yet another NextGen student whose momma we taught and loved back in the gap.

And for a moment, it was almost surreal.

Time keeps ticking. Those kids grew up. We grew older. 😂 And now some of their babies are sitting across the table from us. I guess I am feeling the nostalgia of it all and also realizing that we are INDEED getting older!

Today, many of these 45+ kids hung around until it was time to head to FBCA or Cornerstone for Wednesday night service. They ate, laughed, played, learned, probably drove us a little crazy 😂 and were surrounded by people who love them.

Another generation.

Lord, help us love them well. ❤️

Apparently we’ve been nominated for BEST COFFEE through Baytown 411 and I am just now realizing it. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ Y’all know I’m a little oblivious to the goings-on around me these days!

Seriously, THANK YOU. 🥹☕️

We are always so incredibly honored when our community recognizes us for what we do. We love serving you, we love making you ridiculously delicious coffee, and we are so grateful that you continue to show up and support the mission behind every cup.

BUT, we also want to take a minute to celebrate our fellow coffee friends throughout our surrounding communities. 🤎

Tyson and I genuinely believe there is enough room in the Kingdom for ALL of us and I am so proud of the work that is being done through the coffee community.

Each of us has our own people to reach, our own mission to fulfill, our own atmosphere to create, and our own special little flair that makes us who we are.

Anybody who has ever worked behind a coffee bar knows that this work isn’t for the faint of heart! 😂☕️

So whether the final vote says Freedom Café or one of our other coffee friends…

Just wanted to give a shout out to Tucker and Kayden!! This weekend, they took ownership of The Brew Box and ROCKED Faux Real Trade Days both Friday and today - Tucker drove it, and they worked together to set it up, work it and tear it down in the HEAT of August on top of it all.

Gosh, we sure miss Tyson Long and at the same time, his absence has created opportunities for growth in us all, including our Bearded Missionary himself.

Watching Tucker grow in this way brings a lot of joy to my heart. Watching ALL of our kiddos grow brings me so much joy.

At the end of the day, I'm just a wife and momma and Tyson is just a husband and daddy and these are still our 3 boys, 2 of them alongside the young ladies that they love. We are just a little family in a tiny blip of time growing and working to make a difference for the Kingdom.

We make mistakes. We have bad days. We make wrong choices and, yet, at the end of the day, we grow and we love.

Thank you for allowing us to be human as we navigate this life and the challenges that are faced. Thank you for cheering us on, encouraging us and praying us through.

Today, could we celebrate these two? Would you give ol' King Tuck Ms. Kayden a virtual fist bump for stepping into and CRUSHING a new responsibility this weekend?

To those of you who helped us reach our goal of 10 Study Bibles - THANK YOU so much! ❤️

Yesterday, three of those Bibles were placed directly into the hands of women who didn’t have a Study Bible of their own. And that right there is why you give.

These aren’t Bibles that are going to sit on a shelf. They’re being placed into the hands of people who want to read, study, and grow in the Word of God. 🙌🏻

And as long as you guys keep sending them, we’ll keep putting them into the hands of people who need them. 📖❤️
