Our Kitchen Will Be Closed Tuesday
Hello, MCCo Fam
I’m finally taking one long, deep breath after an incredibly full season, and especially after Jambridg... but first, we have a couple of important updates for this week.
Our kitchen will be closed Tuesday, September 22, as Rick, Chris, and I travel to a US Foods customer appreciation event and food show.
It’s an opportunity for us to step outside our normal routine, see what’s new, gather ideas, and hopefully bring some fresh inspiration back home with us.
The coffee bar will remain open during our regular hours, so you can still stop in for your favorite coffee, espresso, tea, or seasonal drink. The kitchen will return to normal service on Wednesday.
Thank you for giving us the occasional space to learn, connect, and continue growing.
The Evening Ritual Is Taking the Week Off
We have also decided to pause The Evening Ritual for this week.
Between being short-staffed and coming out of an incredibly demanding stretch, our team has been so on. They have shown up, worked hard, adapted, and given Merchant so much of their energy. This week, we need to give everyone a chance to catch their breath.
I am also taking this time to reassess and reevaluate The Evening Ritual—what’s working, what needs to shift, and how we can continue building it into something sustainable and meaningful for our community.
I’m sorry to disappoint anyone who was planning to spend an evening with us this week. But I promise: we will be back, and we aren’t going anywhere. 😉
Sometimes caring for something means allowing it and the people behind it a moment to rest, regroup, and return with intention.
To Our Merchant Family
I also need to say how eternally grateful I am for the way you have stayed with us as we’ve moved through staffing changes, training, shifting roles, and all the growing pains that come with building a strong team.
We have welcomed several new faces behind the counter, and I sincerely hope that through these transitions, you have continued to receive the same high-quality beverages, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful care that make up the Merchant standard.
Our new employees are learning the craft, the systems, and the heart behind why we do what we do. I’m proud of the effort they are putting in, and I’m deeply grateful to our experienced team members who are helping teach, guide, and protect the culture we have worked so hard to build.
Thank you for offering patience while our newest team members find their rhythm. Thank you for encouraging them. And thank you for continuing to walk through our doors and trust us with your mornings, meetings, meals, and moments of rest.
And Now, One Big Jambridge Exhale
Jambridge is my favorite day of the year—and judging by the number of people who stopped me to say thank you, offer congratulations, or simply share how much the day meant to them, I don’t think I’m alone in that feeling.
I’m still trying to fully take it all in.
Seeing our streets filled with music, local food, art, small businesses, old friends, new faces, and families enjoying our town together filled my heart in a way I’m not sure I can adequately explain.
To every person who showed up: thank you.
Thank you for coming downtown. Thank you for supporting the musicians, artists, food trucks, breweries, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and local businesses that made the day possible. Thank you for believing that something joyful, creative, and deeply rooted in community belongs right here in Ambridge.
This event requires months of work, more moving pieces than anyone sees, and a whole lot of people choosing to give their time, resources, energy, and trust. But when I looked around and saw all of you there, every difficult moment became worth it.
Jambridge reminded me once again that our community is alive. Our roots are deep. And when we show up for one another, we can create something truly beautiful.
My heart is still swollen with relief, love, joy, and gratitude.
Thank you for showing up for Jambridge. Thank you for showing up for Merchant. And thank you for continuing to believe in the kind of community we are all building together.
With a very full heart,
Kimberly + the Merchant Coffee Team
