First of all, we want to apologize for such a long post, but today is a very special day for our family, and it means a lot to us to share this with you.
Today marks exactly one year since Borsch House first opened its doors at The Yard Altoona.
A year ago, we took a step that felt both exciting and frightening. Starting a business from scratch in a new country, where the language, rules, and culture were unfamiliar, became one of the biggest challenges our family had ever faced.
Before this, we had never owned a business. Every day became a new lesson. We learned how to make decisions, take responsibility, build a team, overcome challenges, and keep going even when things were difficult.
Looking back, we realize how far we have come in just one year. One of our greatest sources of pride is that we are now able not only to grow our business but also to create jobs for others.
We are especially grateful to our team. Even though our English is limited, you have always treated us with patience, kindness, and respect. Thank you for embracing Ukrainian cuisine, learning our traditional dishes, and helping us share our culture with the community.
We also want to thank every single person who has supported us throughout this past year. Whether you visited us once or have become a regular guest, every order, every kind word, every recommendation, and every review has meant more to us than you know.
Because of you, our small family idea has become part of the Chippewa Valley community and the wonderful family of The Yard.
We continue working every day to improve our recipes, expand our menu, and introduce more people to Ukrainian cuisine.
Thank you for becoming part of our story. It is truly an honor to cook for you. We hope this is only the beginning and that many more years of warm conversations, genuine smiles, and delicious food are ahead.
With love and gratitude,
The Borsch House 🤝🫂
