Happy Rising my Missouri Peoples! I know it's been a minute since my final service at the Back Lot... I'd been so busy packing up and getting my Nomad Kitchen to Texas for our inspection that I had to wait before I could do the great big THANK YOU post to all of you before I left... So now I sit down in my sister's beautiful home in the Hill Country, all rested after sleeping for 12 hours, with time to express my gratitude and appreciation... First and foremost, my gratitude goes to my dear sister Harmony (who will be bringing a coffee/organic food truck to Howell county very soon!! So keep your eyes out for "Come Bye Coffee"!) whom, along with her absolutely incredible family provided the ultimate landing spot; a place to live while getting my business off the ground... and all the love, support, and downtime festivities a sister could be blessed with... There really are no words... and as soon as her darling little trailer is ready for the world, I will be promoting the heck out of it!
My time in West Plains was a wonderful first chapter in the story that is Furiosa's Nomad Kitchen... From the moment I first opened my service window on the corner of Independence lane and Porter Wagoner, in the parking lot of lovely Kim's Sweet Southern Treasures & More, to the West Plains Civic Center, where the fantastic crew there were always so gracious and helpful, to my Saturdays at the GO FARM Farmers Market of West Plains with the wonderful Patrice and Craig being so supportive and awesome, to the special event nights in The Back Lot and the absolutely incredible team there, led by Jeff and Stacey who couldn't have been more welcoming, and at The Yellow House... Every landing I was offered was truly hospitable, caring, and was instrumental in getting this dream off the ground...
Then, the local providers of produce, that made my menu possible must get props! To the great people (especially team Lacie) at The Truck Patch West Plains, it won't be the same without my twice daily visits into your extra air-conditioned little store (and I bet you'll notice a serious drop in "so-delicious" ice cream bar sales!) And last, but not least, Mary Badiny of Maranatha Farms provided the (very best herbs I've every sourced), the jalapeños and the cucumbers for my sauces...
And then there was the true backbone of my success in Howell County... my wonderful customers whose weekly stops by my window literally made it possible for me to stay in West Plains for the summer... "My people" who were so happy to have a place where they could come and get healthy, organic, vegan food and a fresh squeezed drink were the highlights of my day, bringing their radiant faces, stories, laughter, and sometimes tears to my little portal creating an energetic hot-spot around my trailer. I won't forget how welcomed and appreciated you all made me feel. Thank you!!
I got photos of many of you on my last weekend, which I am posting here, but many of you were either out of town, or unable to make in for the final weekend... If I'm unable to tag you (for some reason I'm not allowed to tag many of you who are my followers, so please tag yourselves!!), or locate your FB page, but you have been coming to me all summer, please DM me, provide a photo of yourself that you like, and I will add it to this post! And lastly, some of you aren't on Facebook, so I can't tag you, but you psychically know who you are!
And then... the folks who helped get my rig in proper order with which to meet the open highway again...Steve Saylor got my beautiful Feral Kitty built metal sign permanently affixed to the brackets he manufactured himself... Carson and Sean at Springfield Wraps who so fabulously printed and affixed my logos and lettering, and Mark at Double H Enterprises who painted the hood of my trusty truck with mere moments to spare, and did a fine job!
I could not have done this alone!! You all had a role to play in giving this nomad her wings. From the bottom of my heart... THANK YOU!!!
