As a small hometown business, Open Door Diner is built on trust — with our customers, our community, and most importantly our staff.

It has come to our attention that inaccurate information about our pay practices has been shared publicly. We have taken this time of respectful silence to do our due diligence by meeting with our accountant to look over every aspect of this. Again we want to be transparent: our compensation structure has been reviewed by our accountant and is fully lawful. Every employee receives fair wages, and tip distribution is handled properly and honestly into the employees paycheck.
Claims to the contrary are simply not true, and continuing to circulate them is causing genuine harm to people in this community who work hard every day. We understand that part of this has come from honest confusion. We are diligently working to do everything we can to avoid any confusion in the future. We have been so blessed by the outpouring love and support by so many of our community, customers and friends.

We love this town and the people in it. We only ask for the same good faith in return. If anyone has a real concern, our door is always open for an honest conversation.
