🚫 Closed Today for 春节 · New Year

Today, our Alhambra, Tustin, and City of Industry locations are closed so our team can celebrate 春节 and enjoy a proper reunion dinner with their families.

This is the one day each year we pause — so the people who cook and serve for everyone else get to sit down, slow down, and share a meal of their own.

✨ West LA remains open and ready to welcome you.

Thank you for being part of the Sichuan Impression family.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments don’t get celebrated right away.

We were notified and officially awarded our place in the MICHELIN Guide California 2025 quite some time ago — and looking back now, it’s hard to believe how quietly that moment passed. Not out of indifference, but simply because life at the restaurant kept moving forward.

Over the past year, our days were filled with opening a new location in City of Industry, launching a large wave of new dishes, and traveling back to Chengdu as a team to keep learning, refining, and reconnecting with the roots of what we do. In the rhythm of everyday work, we didn’t pause to celebrate — we just kept cooking.

After 11 years, four locations, and an industry that continues to grow more competitive each year, we know one thing clearly:
Only by staying grounded, continuing to evolve, and never stopping our pursuit of better food can we earn the trust of our guests and the recognition of the market.

Every acknowledgment — including this one — means more to us than words can say. It reminds us that the quiet work, the long days, and the constant self-questioning are worth it.

To our team — especially our Sichuan women, who continue to work hard, learn fearlessly, and shine in their own way — we keep going, together. 🌶️✨

Thank you for being part of this journey.

A big thank you to for bringing together such a relaxed and fun Yelpies Holiday event. ✨

One of the most memorable parts of the night was the venue — a classic American antique market that created an unexpectedly easygoing setting for the event.

Our all-Sichuan-girls team set up inside the market, sharing a new dish inspired by our recent trip back home to Chengdu: Tropical Street-style Sichuan Potatoes (狼牙土豆).

In the past, our version was deep-fried — closer to French fries — seasoned with Sichuan chili spices to match what most American diners were familiar with.

This time, we challenged ourselves with the street-style version you’d actually find in Chengdu: potatoes flash-fried for just a short moment, creating a texture that’s ultra-crisp and almost fresh, then finished with ripe tropical tomato, Burmese cilantro, and bold, bright flavors.

We introduced the dish one guest at a time, explained the idea behind it, and listened closely to everyone’s feedback. It was a lot of work — but incredibly rewarding.

Thank you to the Yelp LA team, fellow vendors, and everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared their thoughts with us.

Rice Mochi Taro Bowl

An East-Asian–inspired dessert sensation that customers can’t stop ordering.

Silky taro, pillowy mochi, and aromatic purple rice come together in balanced layers —
finished with delicate osmanthus honey and dried blossoms.

Lightly sweet and thoughtfully composed, this bowl reflects Eastern flavor and aesthetic —
comforting, refined, and unforgettable.

⭐ Dine LA Restaurant Week Exclusive
During Dine LA Restaurant Week, the Rice Mochi Taro Bowl is available as a $9.99 add-on dessert with the purchase of any Dine LA combo menu.

Flaming Pork Jowl
Get ready for a fiery show at your table! 🔥

This original Asian fusion creation from Sichuan Impression features premium pork jowl — a beautifully marbled cut near the jaw, often called the “Wagyu of pork.” Each slice is carefully hand-trimmed, marinated in our fruit-and-vegetable blend for a juicy texture, then double-fried and flame-seared to perfection.

Before serving, our team shaves fresh Litsea root over the sizzling pork — a rare aromatic spice with a bold lemongrass-and-citrus fragrance. A splash of high-proof liquor is then ignited, releasing a captivating aroma and an unforgettable burst of heat.

Enjoy it on its own, or wrap it with lettuce, bell pepper, garlic, and our house recipe pineapple chili sauce for a refreshing, tropical finish.

About Sichuan Impression

Chengdu sits at the western edge of China’s Sichuan basin. The fertile Chengdu Plain, on which the city is located, is also known as the “Country of Heaven”, a phrase often translated as “The Land of Abundance”, for it has always been blessed with a wealth of natural resources and agricultural products. As the provincial capital, Chengdu brings together the impressive regional culinary delicacies of Sichuan, and is even officially recognized as the “City of Gastronomy” by the United Nations.

The nickname “Jin-Cheng” (or “City of Brocade”) for Chengdu dates back to the Three Kingdoms era. “When dawn comes, we will see splashes of red flowers with drops of dew blossoming all over Jin-Cheng.” This was how Du Fu, a prominent poet from the Tang Dynasty, recorded his impression of Chengdu in his famous poem “Sweet Rain on A Spring Night”, hence the literal name of our restaurant, Jin-Cheng-Li (“Inside Chengdu” or “Sichuan Impression”).

The founders of Sichuan Impression were born and raised in a family of culinary art. After they travelled across the ocean to the States, they wished to present the most traditional, most authentic possible Sichuan cuisine to the American eaters with elevation in the quality of raw material and a contemporary style. An integrated selection of local snacks, the classics, regional specialties and new school specialties is ready to feast you on a sensational culinary journey of “Sichuan Impression”.
