Backstage, task is not just food preparation, but also a thoughtful discussion about how each piece is served and in what order.   Our Chefs  constantly share opinions and decide the sequence, making the entire Omakase experience like a well-composed concert. 
Every piece is prepared and served in front of the guest at the optimal timing and temperature.
We truely appreciate our customers for understanding and respecting our values, and bringing enthusiasm to enjoy "the experience!"

This seasonal Uni from Hokkaido is called Aka Rishiri(赤利尻).  This uni is found around Rishiri Island in northern Hokkaido, where it feeds on Rishiri Konbu--the most well-known and highest-quality kelp. 

This exceptional Uni is deeply infused with the subtle, elegant umami of Rishiri kelp. This natural pairing gives each bite a creamy, sweet flavor layered with the rich taste of the sea.

This seasonal Uni from Hokkaido is called Aka Rishiri(赤利尻).  This uni is found around Rishiri Island in northern Hokkaido where it feeds on Rishiri Kombu, the most well-known and highest- quality kelp.

Kogane will be closed for our 545 service today due to the ongoing situation in Los Angeles. Instead of our first seating, we will be offering a take home lunch menu omakase. Please text us or send a message on Instagram for any orders. There will be 20 boxes available.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fires. As your friends, neighbors and fellow Angelenos, we kindly hope that everyone can help each other through this so that we can survive and emerge stronger than before.

Today I'd like to highlight a new arrival for us! These two beautiful bottles come to us courtesy of Miyaizumi Brewery. Run by a 4th generation owner with over 400 years of history, I'm very happy to share with you Sharaku Daiginjo and Junmai Daiginjo.
The Daiginjo is lightly dry, fruity, and refreshing, with a bright acidity. On the other hand, the Junmai Daiginjo is clean, elegant and refined, with a light sweetness and balanced acidity.
These sake come to us from a new vendor that we're working with, and we hope to highlight more of their selections in the future!

A restaurant has many pieces behind the scenes that help it run. Today I'd like to highlight a very important one that you've probably noticed if you've dined with us in the last year!

Yuka san and her wonderful team at have been hand delivering these gorgeous arrangements for our bar and front entry. She's one of the kindest, most hardworking people I've had the pleasure of working with, and we're so grateful for her help creating the atmosphere and aesthetic of Kogane.

Please support small businesses where you can, and give them a call if you need some arrangements, big or small!
