The Evening Star Cafe is a rollicking neighborhood gem located in the heart of Del Ray. Opened in 1997, Evening Star is well known for its friendly vibe and convivial setting and continues to shine with a fiercely loyal crowd. Led by Executive Chef Keith Cabot, we combine friendly, gracious service with a seasonal, American menu featuring produce grown on our rooftop garden and by local farmers throughout the region. The Evening Star also offers a stunning array of nearly 1,500 wines, all of which are available next door at Planet Wine Shop. Our bars, The Majestic Lounge and the No. 9 Lounge, each offer a total of 20 craft draft and cask beers, plus plenty of room to gather with friends. The upstairs bar, No. 9 Lounge, is open Wednesday through Saturday at 5:30 PM. You can find the full calendar of bands playing in the No. 9 Lounge on Wednesdays and Thursdays here: http://ow.ly/om8GN. Shows in the No. 9 start at 8 PM and there is no cover charge.

Welcome Back to the Neighborhood Crooked Beat Records!

We’re so excited to have Crooked Beat Records back in Del Ray! Huge Congrats to Bill and the team on the soft opening this weekend. We can’t wait to swing by and check out the new digs.

With now two record shops, Crooked Beat’s return to the neighborhood helps turn Del Ray into THE DESTINATION for vinyl in the DMV. And we’re here for it!

We couldn’t imagine a better way to open Mobius Records ALX this Saturday than with a roster of can’t miss events in Del Ray!

Mobius opens at 11am with an unbeatable list of records, CDs, merch and more, and we’re throwing a party on our little corner of Mount Vernon Ave to welcome the new shop to the neighborhood.

For starters, the Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market will be popping up from 9am-2pm, the Evening Star and Hi/Fi are open all day starting with brunch at 10am, Shorty’s Deluxe has sandwiches for those on the move, and Leon City Sounds will be spinning vinyl outside from 4pm to 6pm.

And there’s so much more: Premier League action begins at 10am at the Majestic Bar, our very own Greg Engert is popping bottles and cans at Planet W**e for a FREE b**r tasting at noon, college football takes over the TVs at Hi/Fi and the Majestic all day, and we finish with a live performance out back at Hi/Fi from Nathan Storey.

Make your plans to join us for our opening day now - we’ll see you there!
