🌺 Why do we say "Bula"? 🌺

If you've spent time in a kava space, you've probably heard it: Bula! 🙌

Bula is a Fijian greeting that literally translates to "life," and it's used as a warm hello, a toast, and an expression of good wishes all in one. In Fijian culture, saying "Bula" is more than a word. It's an invitation to connect, to be present, and to share in the moment together.

That's exactly the spirit we try to bring into every Roots & Leaves Kava & Teas space. Kava has traditionally been used in Pacific Island ceremonies to bring people together, mark celebrations, and create a sense of community, and every time we raise a cup and say "Bula," we're honoring that tradition. 🍵

So next time you're at the bar and someone raises their shell or cup and says "Bula," that's your cue to raise yours right back. 🌿
