Some fun facts about matcha🌿 :
1. Unlike regular green tea, where leaves are steeped and discarded, matcha is finely ground tea leaves that you consume entirely, giving you more of the leaf's nutrients!
2. Matcha contains L-theanine and caffiene. This unique combination can provide a more gradual, sustained energy boost compared to coffee, without the sharp spike and crash some people experience.
3. Good matcha has a balance of sweetness, earthiness, and a savory depth known as umami, which comes from the amino acids developed during the shading process.

Alright y'all, it's that time of year! We have got a fabulous team at CRC, and we are looking to grow!
We have two part-time positions we are looking to fill, each with 20-30 hours/week for the summer.
Some details:
-Kitchen/bartending/barista experience preferred
-Must have weekend availability
-ServSafe/food protection manager certification is a huge bonus!
-Must have reliable transportation
The perks:
-Free shift drinks
-Daily and biweekly tips
-Employee discounts on coffee, food, and merch
-Short shifts, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy your summer after work!

Some days we still have to stop and take it all in.
After years of planning and construction, there's something incredibly satisfying about seeing it all come together! We're so grateful for everyone who has supported Crooked River Coffee along the way and helped turn this vision into a place we're proud to call home.
Just months ago, this place was a sketch, a conversation, and a dream. Now it's a place filled with coffee, conversations, and community!

What is a traditional macchiato?
In Italian, macchiato means "marked" or "stained", so cafe macchiato literally translates to "stained coffee"!
Ours is composed of a double shot of Frogtown espresso "stained" with just a dollop of milk foam. The macchiato simple and delicate, designed to showcase the character of the espresso. It is just slightly mellowed by the spot of foam, softening the bitterness without turning it into a milk based drink like a latte or cappuccino.
The macchiato is a perfect no-nonsense caffiene boost, especially if you're on the go. Pair it with a crookedtreebreadworks maple pecan shortbread to complete the experience!

You guys have been asking, and we heard you. We are so excited to tell you about our new product line from Tootsie Bluffins!

Twin sisters Amber Kilgore and Yarrow Young are lifelong members of the Northern Michigan community. If you don’t already know, they make some of THE BEST baked goods and better yet, they specialize in gluten free goodies!

You may have seen their gorgeous displays at weddings, events, and farmers markets, and now Crooked River Coffee is the only retail outlet for Tootsie Bluffins products! We are currently offering GF* brownies, banana bread, and cake pops.

Trust us, these are definitely worth a try.

*Tootsie Bluffins products are made in a shared facility. All baked goods are made without wheat, but are not certified gluten free.
