I grabbed my bundle of meal tickets, sitting down with paper and pencil in hand, my mind drifted, reflecting back on my customers, today I couldn’t of ended my year any better and making the decision to close down to get ready for the new equipment and updates coming to the Ice Cream Shoppe.
A gentleman who visits regularly, told me a story a few months ago about him being the first baby, that Akron Doc Herrick (might be misspelled) delivered and yes he is a New Years baby... 88 years ago, I decided to celebrate his birthday early with cake and ice cream today, (yes during breakfast)! Several others acknowledged that they had never eaten cake and ice cream this early in the morning and for breakfast, but I loved watching these people sit around as they reminisced about the good old days, Happy 88th birthday to Raymond Adams, your knowledge from life is flattering and I will absorb your stories every chance I get. The best is yet to come (his words not mine), don’t be afraid to go out on a limb, for that’s where the fruit is.... I couldn’t of asked for a better day, I appreciate each and everyone of my customers and the small town closeness is simply amazing, I seen several early breakfast visitors return to celebrate with Raymond. My heart is happy !
